  • Karzai to take up Kabul attack with Pakistan

President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday visited those wounded in Tuesday's suicide attack on a Shiite shrine in Kabul, promising to take up the issue with Pakistan.
At least 55 people, including an American citizen, were killed and 136 others wounded when the suicide bomber detonated his explosives among mourners at the Abul Fazl Shrine.
An outlawed Pakistani militant group, Lashkar-i-Jhangavi, has claimed responsibility for the attack, which nearly coincided with a similar bombing in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
The group was based in the neighbouring, Karzai said, adding: "We will carefully investigate the issue and it with up the Pakistani government."
Scrapping a planned visit to Britain in the wake of the unprecedented sectarian attack in the Afghan capital, the president return to Kabul.
During a visit to the Emergency Hospital, where many of the wounded are under treatment, Karzai denounced the bombing as a "brazen attack on Islam, humanity and Afghanistan".

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

    -Ferishta, 1560–1620

For ten years, territory falling under the jurisdiction of Pakistan has been used to carry out attacks in Afghanistan that have left thousands of Muslim, Pashtun civilians dead. In response, to this day, Pakistan has done virtually nothing against the terrorist groups in FATA that attack Afghanistan and in return, those terrorist outfits have signed peace agreements with Islamabad.

So if you talk about justice, how will the thousands of dead Afghans get their justice? Who should be held responsible for their deaths? The people who give sanctuary to those terrorists in North Waziristan and themselves hide in Rawalpindi or someone else?

International Law 101: you cannot let your territory be used for any sort of activities against your neighboring states. The very reason why these NATO and ANA forces operate so close to the Durrand Line is that Pakistan, to this day, has refused to take action against terrorist forces using its territory to kill Afghan women and children.

As for those that died at Mohmand, they were but a small price that Pakistan is paying for its double-game. If anything, their deaths have given Rawalpindi a little leverage over the international community and they will milk this for more than what they milked the Raymond Davis case for.

And there were no Pakistani soldiers in Kargil. And Pakistan didn't sell nuclear secrets to Libya.

Luppy jana, the thing is that the Jihadist groups that the ISI supports come as a package - they're hardcore Muslims who wanna kill infidels in India and Afghanistan but, at the same time, they consider Shi'ites wajib-ul-qatl. So as long as that support continues, this sectarianism will not end.

Before 1979 and the introduction of this hardcore Islamist ideology, Pakistan itself was a happy, multi-sectarian society. But one cannot disassociate Salafi Islamism from fierce anti-Shi'ism. Just look around on the forums - the most hardcore potential suicide bombers here are also the most anti-Shia.

^Zalmay dont be naive .There is difference between ISI backed jihadi organizations like jaish e mohamad & lashkar taiba and anti-shia banned organizations like lashkar jangvi. you perhaps dont know that many of top ISI and army officers are shias...

That's because you think that the operations in Waziristan and other parts of FATA are against Pakhtuns, not those terrorist outfits. Well those willing to sign peace treaty on our terms in our land are most welcomed by us.

No, the people who started all this ****. You on one hand praise the NATO troops who are openly involved in the killings of innocent Afghans and on the other hand you strongly criticize Pakistan who could be involved in some terrorist activities in Afghanistan. If Pakistan is involved and you have proofs why don't you take it to the interanational courts? Why don't we see any investigations about it on official level?

And what is the reason that they operate within Afghanistan? What is the reason that they were called inside Afghanistan?

Wow, I am flattered. You want me to be sad for your deaths and when some one dies at this end of the border you say that this is the price my country has to pay? Thanks for your concern. I would rather say, look within yourselves, your own lines, make yourself comfortable and terror free before you talk about Pakistan.
You are trying to tell me that there is not a single terrorist organisation working inside Afghanistan against the Afghan govt and NATO troops? Everything that is done within Afghanistan against both is done only by ISI and Pakistan. Than I will say you better stop crying about it and start doing something to stop this interfernce.

how about an investigation into this.

i find it quite weird that people who claim to be educated believe what ever is told to them and cant think for themselves or ask questions.

ISI is present in afghanistan because it has to counter indian RAW there. Afghanistan agency RAMA or some thing is working along with RAW in doing terrorism in pakistan and supporting rebels...If lashkar jangvi is banned in pakistan, it means it is not ok to blame pakistan for blasts on shias in afghanistan.

Oh come on bro, you dont take that seriously, recently their commander was released from jail.

Lashkar e tayba was also banned, but they just renamed their organisation to Jammat ud Dawa and its all grazy in the eyes of Pakistan.

Oh really luffy, I guess RAW also supported President Daud and Pakistan armed Sayaf and co to counter RAW activities in Afghanistan during the 70's.

Its a timeless stupid petty excuse most Pro Pak Ikhwanis use.

Luffy, Afghanistan has full right to have India as a friend the same way your Pakistan has a godless commie Chinks as their "NAMBAR AEEK DUSTI".

Pakistan uses these groups to kill Afghans, and I would welcome the expertise of the Indian RAW who have countered Pakistani sponsored terrorism in Indian Kashmir.

The Chief of the Defense Committee said that the NATO troops knew about the Pakistan Army's check posts and they knew that those check posts are there to stop the militants from entering to Pakistan from Afghanistan.
