  • The Afghan 'Free' Press - Audio

Every Afghan has the right to print or publish topics without prior
submission to the state authorities in accordance with the law.

    - Chapter 2, Article 34, Section 13
    - The Afghan Constitution

It would seem that criticising the government's rank corruption is against the 'law'.

To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
    own inclinations and desires

Even at the choreographed puppet jirga, they prevented a puppet MP from voicing opposition to the decisions. Safia Sediqi even admitted that the US did not want the "pacts" details to be told to the "jirga." Yes, isn't it so clear that the Karzai government is heading towards a collapse?

The jirga and the "recommendations" made are insignificant at this point now.

The bottom line is there will be no peace as long as there is a US occupation of Afghanistan, even if it is drawn down to a limited number, occupation is occupation.

Aside from the continuous and unrelenting Afghan opposition to the US occupation, regional opposition is too high with CRIP (China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan) jointly against the US presence in Afghanistan. Pakistan's US supply lines are probably closed indefinitely (Imran Khan's pressure is too high and his demands to end Pakistan support for the US war and occupation of Afghanistan is crystal clear. His objectives resonate with the masses) , and Russia's threat of closing the northern supply lines will most likely materialize. The end of the US war and occupation is inevitable whether it happens now or later.

Hence, there is a convergence of interests, and all chips are in favor of this US war and occupation coming to an end.

The Bonn conference was meaningless even with Pakistan's participation because Pakistan has no sway over the Taliban as it has been hyped up in the media.
