Donkey bomb kills two in Afghanistan
    (AFP) – 14 hours ago

MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan — A bomb strapped to a donkey blew up in northern Afghanistan on Tuesday, killing a policeman and a civilian and wounding 16 people, officials said.
The bomb went off in a market in Ghormach district, Faryab province. Although donkey bombs are rare in Afghanistan, they are occasionally used by insurgents as a way of getting close to targets.
A spokesman for the Faryab police chief, Sayed Massoud Yaqubi, said that one policeman and a civilian had died in hospital after the attack.
He added: "This morning a bag of explosives strapped around a donkey detonated."
An earlier statement from the interior ministry in Kabul added that one policeman was killed and 17 civilians wounded in the incident.
Afghan government forces are fighting a bloody war against a decade-long, Taliban-led insurgency with the help of around 140,000 international troops stationed in Afghanistan

seems like a well planned surgical attack...
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

i would like to argue otherwise. donkeys don't have free will. also, they are quite useful and coachable.

Artillery shells don't have free will either. But Taliban will find any use for donkeys, including as their wives.

The Pakistani Taliban are becoming increasingly inventive. What they lack in funds and technology, they make up for in innovation. This Sunday, militants of the banned Lashkar-e-Islam group – one of several groups that constitute the Pakistani Taliban – connected an explosive device to a donkey, the main source of transportation in Tirah Valley. Five tribesmen from the Akakhel tribe and three from the Zakhakhel tribe were killed in the explosion. The use of explosive material connected to a donkey cart shows terrorist groups are coming up with new ways to launch attacks and are making a focused effort to execute those attacks on specific targets. On the other hand, the government and security forces have debated, reviewed, paused and scratched their heads but not yet found a way to abolish in full these revolting attacks. What is especially disturbing is that the victims of Sunday’s donkey bomb were tribesmen from the Akakhel and Zakhakhel tribes that parted ways with Lashkar-e-Islam and formed a peace lashkar against it in March this year. The provincial government and security set-up have thus clearly failed to provide security to the very people who have allied with the government in its drive against militancy. In another new development that has exposed the powerlessness of the provincial authorities to rein in militants, the Swat Taliban have started targeting civilians and government servants willing to facilitate the trials of militants.

It is about time authorities proved themselves capable of matching the innovativeness of terrorists. One of the essential issues of counterterrorism is the trade-off between killing, arresting, and otherwise prevailing over terrorists and the risks of alienating swathes of the population the terrorists seek to lead. A change of strategy is required. We have to make would-be terrorists want to live and live constructively. This will require improving the economic lot of the populations terrorists target, creating better educational opportunities and conceiving and putting into practice a comprehensive de-radicalisation programme. Also, the Anti-Terrorism Act is a badly structured law developed in the context of sectarian violence in the 1990s and in need of fast-track amendments. Without these moves, the existing rate of attacks will continue to embarrass the government and expose its inability to creatively fight terror.

The life of an artillery shell doesn't end once it explodes in to numerous unrecognizable pieces.
In the process of trying to ridicule the talibs, you make yourself come across as an idiot. What did their wives do?? Okay so they didn't slap some sense in to them but you can't hold them responsible.
Even animals care for each others well being. How sad that we can't even live up to that.
