SWABI: Distinguished leader of the Awami National Party was killed along with his minor son and gunman when a suicide bomber attacked their vehicle when they were on their way home from Eidgah after offering Eid prayers.Hanif Gul Jadoon, former district senior vice-president of the ANP and Tehsil Swabi Nazim, was the main target of the suicide bomber. He was killed on the spot and his security guard and minor son succumbed to their injuries in hospital. The attack took place in Malikabad about 22 miles away from the district headquarter. “Counted among prominent leaders of the party he had planned to contest the next general election from the PK-36, Swabi-VI. He was one of our strong candidates and he had already completed his homework,” said Haji Rehmanullah, district president of the party.

He was the most influentail and brave leader.
He was wealthy man but never left his area and people.
Very papular and respected by his tribesmen in his native gadoon area.
I personally met him and found him very nice,nationalists and powerfull man.
He was oppose to the soft and pro establishment policies of the party.
Last year we invited him to pashtu mushaira where he clearly critisize the punjab,s policies against pashtuns and ask the youngs to come farword.
This year on the launching of ,,weekh zalmay tolana,,by our friends in gadoon haneef gul said that one day he could be the target of ,,isi,,brand mullas.
His supporters closed a madrasa own by ,,isi,,mula in his village.Later operation took place and he fully xposed the mulla,s links with ,,isi,,,.
the mulla was killed along with his supporters.
This is what dirty ,,isi,,brand mullas do to keep thir harami master happy in GHQ.
The suicide bombers was from another area came to his village as a begger just before the akhtar.

Anti-isi slogan continue accross the gadoon area after the death of haneef gul jadoon.
A very sincere and brave young leader.
For miles and miles he use to walk accross his area to reach out to his people for ,,gham/khadi.
Because of him anp won the tow seats in swabi.
Most anp leaders escaped to punjab for safety reason while haji haneef gul never lft his area and alway critisize asfandyar for his soft and coward image.He was able to buy a house in islam abad but never left his beloved pashtunkhwa and gadoon.
Even he own businesses in dubai and was very rich man.

SWABI: An Awami National Party (ANP) leader, along with his minor son and gunman, was killed in a suicide attack on Eid day.

Sources said former senior vice-president of the ANP, Swabi district, who was also the ex-Tehsil Nazim, Hanif Gul Jadoon, was returning home in Malikabad, about 22 miles from the district headquarters, after offering Eidul Azha prayers when the suicide bomber struck.

The former Tehsil Nazim was the apparent target of the attack. He died on the spot while his security guard and minor son succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Eyewitnesses said Hanif Gul Jadoon offered the Eid prayers at the Malikabad Eidgah and boarded his vehicle from there. His six-year-old son Ahmad Hanif, gunman Farman Shah and Gul Khitab, his 15-year-old son Ijaz Ahmad and Wazir Shah, an area resident, were travelling in the vehicle when the suicide bomber struck it. Locals said they saw the bomber when they were on their way to Eidgah but considered him to be a beggar.

District Police Officer Mohammad Ijaz Khan told this correspondent that eight to 10 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack. The legs and two unexploded hand-grenades were recovered by the police from the site of occurrence.

Senior ANP leader Azam Khan Hoti, who visited the spot, termed the attack an act of cowardice. “If they think that their attacks will dent people’s resolve, they are wrong,” he said. ANP provincial president Afrasiab Khattak, information secretary Tajuddin, Swabi president Haji Rehmanullah, provincial ministers Zar Shaid Khan and Sardar Babak also visited the residence of the slain party leader and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Malakand chapter, claimed responsibility for the attack. Talking to a foreign radio, a spokesman for the organisation, Sirajuddin, said that the ANP leader was their target after the military operation in his native town Malikabad. Security forces had launched the operation against the militants in Malikabad village in February 2010.

A rich man, Hanif Gul was the potential ANP candidate for PK-36, Swabi-6, and had a large following in the area. He was also instrumental in the victory of the sitting MPA Sarafaraz Khan from the area.
