the people welcome it, infact according to this report the people they interviewed couldn't be happier

Still, the prospects of economic integration are raising spirits among some of the 500,000 inhabitants of South Waziristan, an arid and mountainous region pockmarked with sparse forest and dried up creeks.

"We have wanted this for a long time. It is God's blessing that this road is being built," said Saif-ur-Rehman Wazir, a tribal elder in his 50s wearing traditional baggy trousers and tunic.

A few sections of the highway have already opened and the bustling traffic has fueled optimism in the area.

"If there is a good road there will be business. I own land and it's going to increase in value by ten-fold," said Mir Aman, 26, who owns apple orchards.

"I have already spoken with my father about maybe setting up a petrol pump."
It's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

I have been reading your posts, and I don't understand the logic you attempt to employ at times. With all due respect, Pakistan being the hub of terrorism, it's a known fact that US with Pakistan's permissions bombards Waziristan and other Pukhtun areas. So, building schools and hospitals is useless if you are allowing Pashtuns to die. You can't kill someone's son and hand the dad a lollypop with a bridge and expect him not to complain. The Punjabi establishment is never happy, they are always looking for ways to make their "atom bomb", the Pukhtuns, fight their war with the Pukhtun blood. *Cough Kashmir, Cough WoT*

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Actually its quite the opposite. Since its inception Pakistan has continued carrying on the same policies bequeathed to them by the British. Using the doctrine of divide and conquer (which in itself enjoyed limited success when it came to the Pashtuns) the Imperialists intricately played on different factors to divide Pashtuns into different areas to isolate them as best as they could; namely Afghanistan, FATA, PATA, Baluchistan and the NWFP (now KPK). It is a well known fact that Pakistans policy towards Pashtuns is to brainwash them as best they can; the most widely used technique is through extremist indoctrination. Had the Pashtuns in Pakistan been given their fair share, Pakistan would've disintegrated quite some time ago. Normally people's first concern is always their security and well-being; once that criteria is met people tend to focus more on social issues such as their culture, values and identity. Pakistan (West) almost disintegrated in the early 70s when the waves of secession were cresting; back then the NAP was in power in Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, and had a full fledged insurgency in the works which was subsequently outed by Akbar Bugti who had an issue with the other more senior Baloch leaders from rival tribes were given precedence to over him. He approached Bhutto revealing the details of the movement. Bhutto reacted by declaring Martial Law which led to the operation in Balochistan and the Hyderabad Tribunal. Zia planned on carrying it on until the Soviet invasion presented an opportunity for him to divert the secessionist movements and channel it into the war via Jihad. But Pakistans extremist policies have finally come back to haunt them, a result of which they've been forced to change their longstanding no development policy in FATA and finally attempt to settle it. This'll almost certainly create greater awareness and ultimately a rejuvenated independence movement.

Hi admin i have replied to your warning private message same to tor khan as well. I dont mean to insult just to let you know but if you want to ban me I understand I know the tolerance level of Pathans from personal experience is very low. I also dont know why you people keep saying not to use pathan sorry in pakistan we use this term no one ever complained may be something new happened I am not aware of it.

As for Waziristan you have to answer one simple question and that is was pakistan bombing waziristan before september attacks 9 11. So you understand Pakistan doesnt bomb waziristan Pakistan is pressured by America who are constantly pressured by Afghani Pathans like Karzai government. Again if pakistani army doesnt bomb waziristan Pakistan is guilty if Pakistan does Pakistan is guilty. Now you understand why I say Pathans are like women very hard to please and make happy.

Had this been any other forum, you would've been banned by now for Insulting us by referring to us all as females. However, that generally shows us the nature of your upbringing, and so we are trying to educate you. If our tolerance level were to be low, tor_khan or I could've banned you instantly. Don't get too excited, if you want to discuss a topic keep the veiled insults and emotions out of it.

Of course. Bombs blast occurred as soon as someone dared to mess with their strategic assets, i.e is the Pukhtuns. You are telling me, that prior to 9/11 Pukhtuns were not demonized, or attacked? IMO It's either:

A)You are unsurprisingly unaware of your internal and foreign policy.
B)You are putting up a show here.
C)I want to dance.
So you understand Pakistan doesnt bomb waziristan
Yup, all they do is allow it because as long as Punjab flourishes with the Benjamin Franklins, who cares about those lousy Pukhtuns whom you very eloquently referred to as women.
Pakistan is pressured by America
And the sell out that Pakistan is, it permits the bombing of it's people. Not to mention, it nurtures and supports terrorist camps on it's soil which in returns kills thousands of civilians in Afghanistan or India.
who are constantly pressured by Afghani Pathans like Karzai government.
The very same Afghan government also claims Pakistan trains and supports terrorists who kills civilians. You can't just use a source partially to fulfill your argument, that's a logical fallacy. Let me share an open secret with you my dear friend, The Punjabi dominated Pakistani government supports terrorists, because it enhances their 'strategic depth'. Are you surprised? Or is that also not true, and the London School of Economics and many other authoritative sources are all publishing this because they want to see the last fort of Islam collapse?
Again if pakistani army doesnt bomb waziristan Pakistan is guilty if Pakistan does Pakistan is guilty.
You are so right. Getting paid for it is not guilty! They can hire mercenaries to do their leg-work, and get paid for it. They can make millions of the head of Pukhtuns, since they themselves didn't lay their hands on them, it's okay. She is not guilty. Just do me a favor, and I don't mean to have a condescending attitude, but please don't ever think about law school or taking the LSAT's.
Now you understand why I say Pathans are like women very hard to please and make happy.
Yup, I am aware of what your people think of us. I just hope others whom have been institutionally brainwashed and indoctrinated with false-history/pride realize what you think of them too.

They are building it so the Punjabi Taliban can access the area with more ease, Those dumpy mountainous roads can make the chillies in their bellies rumble a little and cause indigestion.

I am not sure whether you are a genuine pakistani or not as this is e-world. But let me tell you that dont judge communties and nations from e-persons claiming to represent their nations and communties. If you have interacted with large number of pashtuns in pakistan and afghanistan then your view on them would hold weight but if you are judging "pathans" from this forum then you are wrong in doing it. Most of the members here citizens of westren counties with strong impacts of surrounding enviroment on them. Remember mindsets and behaviours comes from learning. And members here have learnt from their homes, society (which would be westren), schools (which would also be westren) etc etc. Same formula applies on westren citizens of paki origin claiming of representing voices of people living in pakistan.

Then how come your Pakistan depends on Western aid and Western Technological assistance to help your country prosper. How come there are Westernised Schools in Pakistan that produce some of the brightist Pakistanis around, while your homegrown schooling system produces some of the worst kind of terrorists around?

To be honest and out of humor, I would like a Pakistan to exist, the reason being, that Afghanistan can send its social rejects(Jihadis,Talibs,Jamiets,Suicide bombers) to settle down in Pakistan and out of Afghanistan, Secure the border or mine it, maybe we could send all the lunatic and fanatics there, I am sure Punjab will be ever so welcoming to allow such individuals and elements to live amongst its Jamiet communities all over Pakistans Punjab.

If you had any brain at all, you would know, that the reason why they are building such a road, is so that their tanks and vehnicle personnel can reach the Afghan border without any difficult and avoid the mountainous terrain if Afghan army or Nato were to attack the Terrorist infested Tribal belt.

Its common sense, its like A.B.C its as simple as that.
