The officer is a Punjabi, and the dude with the white cap was the translator.

I had many videos of dead children in Swat by Military artillary.

I don't know who the man was on the vid ... but I got as far as 1 min and 30 seconds.

I can read about these things, but it does something to my gut to watch them.

It's very difficult to respect the military when these are their tactics.

Why do you have mercy for that man being punished??

The real story behind that bearded man is, when the Swat Taliban who are actually terrorists, were in charge, they went around beheading people, digging up graves and then crucifying people. These people were not the Police men or Army, these were the common people of Swat, Afghans, who the taliban considered as enemies.

Which brand of Islam allows grave turning, crucifying, beheading people who are Afghan Muslims? that allows taking lives just because you dont like a certain people? that takes money and children no matter what.

I can go on, but I know the real story behind that video. For all the evil that that bearded man in the video being beaten did in real life, I do not have even one ounce of pity for him.

The Army and Police are charged by mandate of the Assembly of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa to maintain Law and Order in Swat. The Army has full jurisdiction, full authority legal and moral.

The Captain/Major even asks the Soldiers to stop beating the man. That is more than the pity the bearded dude deserves.

I would not want people like that bearded man destroy Afghanistan or Pakistan. And certainly dont complain when order is restored by the lawful peace keepers.

                  Lawful Peace makers,

I advise you to actually read about how the ISI brought these groups into power, why did your pakistan create taliban in the first place
why shud this man get punished, why not hamid gul and col imam for their open support for Taliban movement?

Destroy Afghanistan and Pakistan, Pakistan was the first people to reconise the taliban in Afghanistan, doesnt this tell u who is truely want Afghanistan destroyed?

Just Conspiracies theories? Got hard proof that can stand in a court of law?
Better yet, if they brought fazl lullah and his goons to power, why did the remove them afterwards?

He committed or took part in crimes that violate Shariah Law if that matters to you, Pakistanis Law if that matters to you and even basic humane behavior and that should matter to you.

That is and remains to be the logical decision, they controlled more ~85% of the territory and controlled Kabul. Why shouldnt Pakistan have recognized them?

Khushal Khattak even little kids in Swat and Buner (hec most of malakand division) know that the Army and ISI had close relations with the Swat taliban. In front of me, even Swatiyaan who were pro-pakistan (they made a hundred excuses for it like you do), experienced and saw things with their own eyes. In that instance, if a swat talib deserves a beating, then please be fair and let us prosecute ISI, Army as well. They have ruined our areas.

Not throughout, but balochistan, malakand division and FATA don't have a nice impression towards them.

These are easy to say hard to come through. In swat people know the ground reality but they have little to no choice. If they fight they will have to stomach taliban again (the same taliban they considered ISI agents and disliked their rule)....if they don't want taliban they will have to stomach the army.

I don't favour the "brand of Islam" that is attributed to extremists. That said, I don't favour the collective punishment that the Malakand division has had to endure.

Basically, the army, in their efforts to "clean up" Taliban and its sympathisers had gone in with draconian measures and beaten up/tortured many many people, including innocents. Makes you understand why people object to the FCR in the Tribal Areas.

I struggle to buy into the Pakistan military because the writing is on every wall. Pakistan Military/ISI + Taliban = kiss kiss.
