Video: Very Interesting: The Real Reason Why Gadaffi Was Killed & Why We're In Libya?
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Its easy to control fiat currency since the producer of fiat money can control value of it and can produce as much as they want while it is hard to control commodity currency since production is limited and its very difficult to control the value of it.

An enemy of fiat money will instantly meet his demise.

I already posted that video last week, just above Hillary's reaction to his death:

And no, Khushal, fiat money is not perfectly safe, because the issuer of such money can themselves go out of control, issuing unlimited amounts of it under Keynesian Monetarist mania, as the US Fed has done. Gold is unprecedentedly high right now, because the US and Europe are both over-leveraged. The American dollar's status as a global reserve currency is unprecedentedly vulnerable.

        america cares about libyans, duh.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

drunk boy, I didn't say fiat money is safer. I was referring that it is likely that a monopoly can control it since the production is from one source. commodity money is much more difficult to control because the production is not from one source. the production is wide spread and commodity is always limited so it could never be worthless. It will always have value.

anyone that proposes to change the status quo of the USD as the reserve currency of the world to a commodity currency is basically proposing the prevention of power and wealth from consolidating to one entity.

          sober up man.

Pakjabi boy, what is the significance of this so-called control? Real control is in sustaining the value of the currency. If everyone abandons your currency, it will go into uncontrolled free-fall. The arbitrary printability of fiat currency, which can be issued in unlimited amounts, means that others can lose confidence in it when you overprint it.

The gold supply cannot be arbitrarily expanded, which means that its value can be controlled by virtue of the limit on its supply.

Italians will lose a lot, now that Libyan business contracts will shift to France.

Oh well, Italian banks owe France lots of money, so when they default France will lose from that side.

dummy, printing it is a choice. government does not have to print it, thats why governmnet has complete control over it, you can not print commodity currency, there is no choice, therefore you have no control.

You can abandon any currency in the world but you can not abandon the USD because of its reserve currency status. Those that propose abandonment like gadafi or saddam will meet their demise, why do you think Iran is left alone. You have to play ball otherwise it does not work. If a country does not have reserves of USD, they can not function, they can not buy goods and services from other countries and trade virtually stops. If a country abandons the USD, basically it is putting an embargo on itself.

It does not really matter who rules Libya, whether its Al Qaida, a communist, or someone from mars, as long as the rulers stick with the financial system of the status quo, they will be left alone. The Western elites does not care about shariah, or communism or abusing human rights, they care about having you under their control by controlling your finances.

smartie, the problem is that populist politics takes over, and politically forces more and more money-printing as the solution to everything (Keynesian "economics")

when monetarism takes over, then the temptation for knee-jerk money-printing predominates. There is "moral hazard" as a result

Gaddafi and Saddam met their demise because of American firepower. That does not mean that people around the world shouldn't be provided with the choice of a global reserve other than the US dollar. People can make their own choice. China and India are trying to create an alternative in the form of a basket of currencies, for example.

what are you talking about, politics don't force the authorities that they should print more money, if anything its the inability of government to pay their bills. The moral hazard comes from the government going on a spending spree because they know they can because they have the ability to print money because they have control. If they did not have the ability to print money, they would not go on an unnecessary spending spree in the first place. If governmnet knows its limits it would respect its boundaries.

what basket of currencies are you talking about. what choice are you talking about. No Country have a choice, You need the USD to buy and sell any commodity in the world. It is only traded in the USD, unless you can change that, you have no choice you fool.
