16 US Mortar Shells Hit Pakistan

US led forces in Afghanistan have fired at least 16 mortar shells at areas in North Waziristan Agency in northwestern Pakistan, Press TV reports. Local sources told Press TV that the mortar shells were fired from bordering Afghanistan’s Khost province in NorthWaziristan Agency on Thursday. However, no loss of life has yet been reported as a result of the attack.

Local sources told Press TV that the mortar shells were fired from bordering Afghanistan’s Khost province in NorthWaziristan Agency on Thursday. Sources added that five NATO helicopters were also flying over areas in North and South Waziristan Agencies that borderPakistan Thursday morning.

The mortar attack comes amid intensified tensions between Washington and Islamabad.

On Thursday, outgoing US Joint Chief of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, claimed that Pakistan’s spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), was supporting the Taliban-allied Haqqani network of militants that have been blamed for the recent assault on the US Embassy in Kabul.

Responding to Mullen, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar, denied US accusations leveled against the Pakistani intelligence agency, saying that the Haqqani network was once the “blue-eyed boy” of the CIA.

Islamabad has frequently slammed Washington over the US drone attacks on Pakistani soil, saying such attacks violate the country’s sovereignty.

The United States regularly carries out drone attacks on Pakistan’s tribal areas. Washington claims that the air raids target Pakistani militants, but Pakistani officials maintain that mostly civilians are killed in the attacks.

According to a report by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, some 957 Pakistani individuals fell victim to US drone strikes in 2010.

Taliban run that from street to street market to market, and as a matter of fact, for the first time in history, the taliban of north waziristan, have brought public hangings/executions, Admin Khan, you should see their Taliban cd's, beheading little boys infront of 1000's of audiance members.

lets the US fire a single shot on punjab and then you will see the reaction of pakistani media,govt and army.
Th real pakistan is punjab.PASHTUNKHWA ,baluchistan are occupied areas and the punjabis know that sooner or later they will lose control over pashtunistan wa baluchistan.
So they are stealing as much as they can from our land.
Even the killing of pashtuns is helping them.
The war on westren border will only harm pashtunkhwa pashtuns.
The US is already bombing the FATA and even if bomb pekhawar or queta etc paki army will not fire a single shot.

Gadoonwala wrora, you understand the situation of Pashtunkhwa really well, I just don't understand why the majority of Pashtuns don't.

I respect the Pashtuns, the true Pashtuns of the past, but as for the people now, I just don't understand how they could be so blind to all this.

There are too many Shahid Afridi types amongst Pashtuns who are diehard Pakistani nationalists, love "Pakistan" (Punjab) and are either blind/indifferent (or a bit of both) to the reality of the injustice against Pashtuns in Pakistan.

I have heard stories of senior Pakistani officers, who are Pashtuns, in the napak army who get constantly ridiculed and humiliated as "bewqaf Pathan" (dim-witted Pathan), or as homosexual Pathan, and all of this is justified as being "jokes", but there will be severe punishment if they dare to try and joke about Punjabis.

Even many ANP members are "patriotic" Pakistanis who fly the flag.

However the du'a of the opressed is accepted, so tribal Pashtuns have been killed unjustly and their du'as for the defeat of America will be accepted, insha'Allah.

Even if the majority of Pashtuns stay as Shahid Afridi style "Pathans" with "dil dil Pakistan", it doesn't matter because Karachi is heading to full-scale civil war, it is the economic lifeline of the country, if the economy collapses, the country collapses and Pakistan will eventually finish.

Education and political consciousness is the only way forward for Pashtuns. The PMAP are the organization I respect the most.
