Qazi Hussain terms Rabbani death as big blow for Pak- Afghan relationsSouth Asian News Agency (SANA)

ISLAMABAD - The former Chief Jamat-e- Islami (JI) Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that the martyrdom of ex- Afghan president Burhanuddin Rabbani is a big blow for Pak-Afghan relations, adding that we have lost a sincere brother and friend.

Talking to media Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that Rabbani was not only a friend of mine but he was like a brother, adding that he was attached with Rabbani from 1970 when he was cordoned off in Kabul University, he came to me with his two students and stayed with us for six months.

Qazi said that later on ex-Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto provided him refuge and Rabbani remained in Pakistan for many years and he remained busy in Jihad against Soviet Union. The news about the death of Rabbani greatly shocked me, Qazi added.

Qazi said that few days earlier we both were in Tehran and participated in Bedari Muslim Ummah Conference. He said that we decided jointly that Rabbani would unite Afghans to prepare field against occupation of US forces and for betterment of Pak-Afghan relations.

Burhanuddin Rabbani said that how it is possible that we are present in Afghanistan and Afghanistan could become the base of India against Pakistan, adding that all perceptions in this regard are baseless, we can not give priority to India on Pakistan, Qazi quoted Rabbani as saying.

Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that it is the weakness of Pakistani rulers that they accept the US pressure; instead of the fact that the US is facing defeat.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I found this perplexing. It warrants further examination. If this is indeed true, then many questions remain here, and it would be clear that Taliban did not do this.

"Qazi said that few days earlier we both were in Tehran and participated in Bedari Muslim Ummah Conference."

"He said that we decided jointly that Rabbani would unite Afghans to prepare field against occupation of US forces and for betterment of Pak-Afghan relations."
