Shaving the head is Sunnah. There are different types of Sunnah. Different jurists have different categories. Some jurists, including many hanafis, believe if one imitates a specific action of the Prophet sal allahu Alayhi wasalam out of love for him, then it is considered as an act of piety and a means to become closer to Allah. If a person shaves his head with this intention, or dyes his beard red with Hannah, or puts kohl, then it is perfectly normal from a Hanafi standpoint.

This is why many Hanafi Mullah's have long beards, shaven heads, kohl, trimmed or shaven mustache and dyed beards.

Others might not agree with them. However, I must say I have never heard any Hanafi claiming shaved head is mustahhab/prescribed.

Some Mullah's simply shave because it's convenient. Especially if you wear a turban. some people feel uncomfortable wearing a turban when they have hair.

What was the real Taliban edict on beards? From what we have all read and heard we know the Taliban demanded Muslim males to maintain a full beard but this has not been the case with their own soldiers as evidenced in this video and even the recent videos.

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
