  • Afghanistan Unity Front established

Today, the Unity Front of Afghanistan was established and announced in Afghanistan.

They put forth their opposition to the US and its puppets.

It has been established as a political party that involves Afghans from all corners.

The article I posted in world news about Afghans opposed to the US occupation, mentions the announcement of this party.

The party seems to be made up of Afghans in all fields, professors, and other people of letters.

    Please post any information here.

This front is opposed to the US occupation and war.

Your anti-Imperialist argument makes no sense.

Smart people in Afghanistan picked this day to announce their Unity Front, but as it was expected neither "Afghan" nor US/Western media reported on it. Only Press TV.

But I doubt that will matter now. These people have seen the movements in the Middle East, and this in conjunction with the other opposition will surely accomplish their goals.

More and more people are realizing that the US presence in the region is the direct cause of all the suffering and the violence.

What doesn't make sense about Being against both Imperialism and the Taliban at the same time?

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

This sounds interristing, but what kind of political party are they, Islamic, democratic, or something else?? And are they pro-Taliban or not??

                        Admin Khan,

The announcement of this group has only been covered by Press TV. Other news media, including "Afghan" media did not cover it. However, no worries. I am sure this newly formed front will continue to make their voice and position clear.

                        From PressTV regarding this development,

A newly established political front has strongly rejected the notion of establishing permanent US military bases in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan's Unity Front, which is made up of people from all walks of life, declared its existence on Sunday.

A spokesman for the group has said that the permanent presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan runs counter to the country's independence and national pride.

The stance comes after several senior congressman called for permanent US military bases in the war-ravaged country.

This Afghanistan Unity Front appears to be exactly that- a national front- bringing all Afghan groups together in unity against the US occupation and imposed illegal Kabul regime.

I am very sure they will start appearing nationally, and most likely have already established ties with regional countries (this happens usually(historically) before a National Front announces itself)

It is a major development, especially when you consider the timing of their announcement.

If anyone can update us on them, it would be appreciated.
