Lockheed Martin - Squad Mission Support System (SMSS) [480p] - YouTube

An autonomous vehicle serving alongside soldiers in rough terrain with a half a ton of equipment on its back will change the rules of the battlefield. Called the Squad Mission Support System (SMSS), this vehicles intuitive situational awareness and real-time 3D perception of its surroundings represent a leap forward in robotics.

The U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force, through the Robotics Technology Consortium, selected the Lockheed Martin Squad Mission Support System (SMSS) (Read more at http://www.armyrecognition.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&amp... ) to deploy to Afghanistan for a first-of-its-kind military assessment. SMSS will deploy as the winner of the Project Workhorse Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) competition sponsored by the Army.
