lol, but Russia Today is also spreading the Russian Propaganda, So is Press TV spreading the Iranian Propaganda.

You won't see the Truth on TV anymore, never..which is why it's called the information age and that is how Wars are fought these days. They used it against IRAQ and it was quite successful.

      I remember seeing this.
They are afraid of people having access to a variety of news sources and perspectives.

I agree with Jamaludeen's comment though.
They all have their own agendas. Just make sure you don't always rely on one source for your information since you may find yourself being prone to following their ideology and will eventually think what they want you to think, which can be dangerous (moreso when they are government-run).

A friend of mine alleges that RT is a vehicle of the Russian FSB and various
        intelligence services.

He believes the director is herself an agent.

He is in a position to know.

So it's a reminder that when RT exposes the TRUTH about a lot
        of American evils and misdealings,
it's not because of caring about fair reportage as much as perhaps
the old ANTI-American-ANYTHING mentality which has dominated
for nearly a century now, since the Bolsheviks took over.

That's why it's a good idea to see WHICH source is saying WHAT -
was this professor a big socialist ? Was that commentator
        a vocal LEFTIST?
Was another source mentored by a member of the Soviet-funded
CP USA - Communist Party of the US ?

We tend to agree with some of these viewpoints today due to the fact
that these old leftists are nearly the only ones who
research [ ie, Global Research in Canada ]
and write against NATO's military occupation of Afghanistan
and many other nefarious American maneuvers throughout the Middle East.

However, remember these people are not guided by Allah [swt]
        because they DISBELIEVE in God.

So while one watches them interviewed on RT, my recommendation
is to say a prayer to shield oneself from their bad energy ---
no matter how useful their concepts and insights are.

For: they STILL are NOT coming from the same place as a religious person.

          ^ Almost definately.

I think there was a story last year that was unfavourable to the Russian government and the reporter was discreetly fired almost straight after. I can't remember the details.

RussiaToday certainly follows an agenda. They also sometimes report on some far fetched stories and most of them are favourable to the Russian government or simply do not talk about the Russian government. Having said that they atleast do provide an alternative to what you hear in the American press. I mean I doubt any of us would have known about this story (of Congress wanting to funds to promote favourable news) from any other news outlet, least of all any American one.

Yes, probably many other stories too.

There was one hour long documentary originally done by a French film
            team which RT ran
about Corruption in Afghanistan in the sense of how American and foreign
projects were barely ever completed, yet the American public is
never told how the taxpayers money has gone down the drain
with such supposed Do Good projects like hospitals.

The construction was gone over in detail by the camera, exposing
the poor quality of cement used, the shoddy work, how
the masonry was already crumbling only a year after completion, etc.

How the European and American NGOs drive around in the latest model
            SUVs, etc.

No American station would touch a film like this.

In fact, I simply believe it's better to skip ALL American media
and pick and choose among Press TV and all others - including RT - for videos which
may shed light on a subject.

To get fuller and wider coverage, one almost has to look around at
a healthy variety of writeups on websites.
The problem is, too, though, the author of the blog or site may be
on target about one topic, but way off in the wild blue yonder on other
            points of view.

It takes WORK to comb through all these to determine which
authors one feels comfortable with - there aren't too many
who are wise about everything !

A daily TV/radio news program, hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez, airing on over 900 stations, pioneering the largest community media collaboration in the United States.
              The only constant is change.
