  • Hafiz Saeed vows to enter India

Lahore: Making provocative comments again, Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has vowed to enter India through Jammu and Kashmir.

Saeed, the founder of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba and blamed by India for masterminding the 2008 Mumbai attacks, said: "From the door of Kashmir we will launch Gazwah-e-Hind (battle for Hindustan)". ...

    Stop bragging, dear Borgza!

Kashmiris should be allowed to express their views towards independence.
And that is possible after the Indian AND Pakistani occupation of Kashmir has ended.

This proxy war on the expense of the ordinary Kashmiris is disgusting, illegal, immoral.

India will have to accept the wishes of the Kashmiris one day.
    The only constant is change.

Have you ever gone to kashmir???or just some pakistani propaganda from internet

there are 3 areas in kashmir

      jammu,ladakh,valley.look at map below

not everyone is for separate kashmir
separatism comes mainly from valley(especially northern),i had friends from valley in my engineering they had no problems with being indian, having said that this guys are mostly from rich families they can afford to study in top colleges in india,it's the poor people that suffer, this guys where ready to throw stones for the sum of 200 rupees(4 dollars) not that they love mr geelani, because of lack of jobs and poverty. thanks to terrorism export from pakistan, india can't afford to have development at this places no IT companies or industries would dare to setup in kashmir, since 1989 uprising tourism which is been backbone of kashmir economy has gone considerably downhill, not many people visit do to fear of terrorists.heard valley is been peaceful this year.i have plans to visit kashmir in coming months

coming to other areas ladakh which is the most peaceful of three, last time i checked ladakh wanted to separate from jammu and kashmir state and become union territory under central government, but the problem it has low population even though it occupies bulk of the kashmir state, where as valley is smallest in area but high density in population, our lazy government won't give union territory status to ladakh thanks to lack of vote. people in ladakh are mostly buddhist with few shia population in kargil districts, coming to jammu majority here are hindus you can't expect them to join with valley, considering it also has huge kashmiri pandits living in refugee camps this people were thrown out of valley.

Thanks for your info but how can it be Pakistani propaganda if I clearly called the Pakistani presence in Kashmir an occupation, too?

Will you start to make sense soon or not?

A referendum is the only way to know what the majority of the Kashmiri wants or not.

Untill then we should be careful with our claims.

but Why do people don't care about other two regions??why only kashmir, this two regions are more then happy to be indians and they occupy 70 percent of whole jammu and kashmir

not always most of the kashmiri pundits were thrown out,and the population here are mostly pundits converted to muslims with persian mix,few still have thier surname like pandit, raina, butt, razdan, bhatt e.t.c

kingdom of ladakh had separate history from kashmir until sikh empire they are more related to Tibet, jammu is more of punjabi and dogra kingdom

Also i feel if the terrorism export is stopped, there would be no need for Army to be stationed in first place, india could have developed kashmir like rest of india, tourism would booming, heard kashmir with huge river flow can export upto 2billion usd of hydroelectricity to rest of india every month
if still people from valley want separate country i have no problem

The insurgency or as you call it terrorism started in the 80ies.

India´s massive military presence is well-documented right after the partition of India and Pakistan in Kashmir.

It is a common Pakistani past-time to fantasize about (re)conquering India. What's funny is that while Delhi has seen Pashtun, Turkish and Persian conquerors, not once in history has a Punjabi or an Utterpredeshi (both are peoples that are considered the real or core Pakistanis) ascended to the throne of Delhi.

As for Kashmir, I agree with sthek. Kashmiris in Ladakh, the Kashmir Valley, Jammu and Gilgit-Baltistan have very different opinions from one another. The valley was pro-Pakistan before the 90s but it is pro-independence now whereas Jammu is generally pro-India.

Now given the fact that almost all the rivers running through India and Pakistan originate in Kashmir, it's a given that it will never become an independent state. In fact, India controls most of the rivers and since the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 is just a piece of paper now, the control of Kashmir has become even more important, especially for Pakistan. However, legally speaking, Pakistan's claim to Kashmir is the weakest of the lot. When Jinnah and his league of brown Sirs and lords had signed and approved the Mountbatten Plan which clearly stated that the rulers of the princely states would decide the status of their dominions, how could they then dispute Hari Singh's decision to accede to India?

At the same time, provisions in the Indian constitutions that make it illegal for non-Kashmiris to own land in Kashmir, also hint at Kashmir's special status within the Indian union. Kashmir is not Orissa, Rajastan or Hariana.

Army only started after pakistan ilegally occupying gilgit and azad kashmir.

before 89 there wasn't huge army placed in civilian part,it started with killing of kashmir pandits(ethnic cleansing),upcourse there were india needed to gaurd it's border from pakistan and china.

classic example was 65 war there was this document from pakistan solider,Ayub khan was facing internal threat in pakistan he wanted to win back people's trust by claiming back kashmir,he thought locals would help pakistani soliders in war without plan B,in return it was the local folks who informed about pakistani soliders sneaking in as locals
