This is not about Pakistan as a state. I am talking about how this man can do his part in bringing this US war against Afghanistan to an end.
I don't understand. I see a man who is saying he will end drone attacks, he will not cooperate with the US.
I recognize it as not artificial or false. His refusal to cooperate in the US war against Afghanistan will bring Afghanistan closer to peace.
He is not a corrupt man, and this credibility matters.

How will you vote for him? Dont you live in a Western country?Originally posted by Talal View PostI will vote for him but to win a majority number of seats in the parliament he needs people fighting at a much greater number of seats than his current cavalry..Meaning if everyone of his party members win he still wont have majority and plus PPP and PML-N draw their major vote bank from rural areas where people dont really give vote based on national interests rather who will get their local road patched up and so far Imran has only been preaching to the city crowd..His best bet is to tap into the "rural cricket tournament youth" (yes there is such a culture) he can draw major votes through them
Wish him best of luck though i would certainly vote for him
I have met Imran Khan face to face, I gave him my 2 cents on what I thought about Pakistan, that it is ruled by corrupt people, and he agreed.
I discussed Afghanistan with him. He is acutely aware of everything, and he does think about Pashtuns more than ANP and PMAP.
This man is opposing drone strikes and the US war in Afghanistan. On the other hand, ANP supports the above

I simply looking at this from the perspective of ending this war.
A person who says he will end drones and close the routes , and has a clear record, has more substance to his words. When he speaks, there is something to hear.
Unlike previous pakistani slaves of America, this man is no slave.
Like both India and Pakistan, he won't be anyones puppet.
This is my opinion, but it is backed by facts.
His election will be important.

He's certainly getting active in KP that's for sure his party already is the most popular in FATA where his prime mandate is abolish the FCR something which I really support him for..Omar Farooq Hoti is also expected to join his party and Omar is son of ANP's former leader Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti so he is maneuvering a bit lets see what happens
Anything but PML PPPP and that god damn MQMIt's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

I agree, this is not the type of man who delivers, on his promises. Khan blends Marxism with Islamism and is a naive idealist. Who in his millionaire, idleness, whines about egalitarianism and the poor. However he's right about corruption and as long as Pakistan remains a feudal/tribal society. Then it will always have problems.Originally posted by afghan View PostImran Khan is going to be worse than zardari, his empty slogans are no diffirent than paki islamic parties. the pakies will never stop begging, this guy is the biggest begger than any one else. is he going to use pashtun in kashmir?Afghan Loghari dance- Homayoun Sakhi, Salar Nader & Mariam - YouTube

Imran Khan is not corrupt and will not beg from the US, nor will he cooperate with the US.
This much he has made clear. As a Pashtun he is very concerned about the terrorism being committed by the US drone attacks, and he also is acutely opposed to the US war against Afghanistan.

not deliver on his promises? he does, he promised to build a free cancer hospital and he did. He even built a educational institute in Mianwali.Originally posted by retro View PostI agree, this is not the type of man who delivers, on his promises. Now there are higher powers that wont perhaps let him do all he wants to do for the country, but he himself is not corrupt

Ha, Mr. Talal Panjabi left unchecked by Pashtun nationalists has become active again spreading Ranjit Singhi propaganda. Imran is not the most popular leader in FATA...that survey was conducted by an agency that is against US war on terror in Afghanistan through ISI spokes...Obviously, ISI also had an interest in feeding it information that would advance its interests.Originally posted by Talal View PostHe's certainly getting active in KP that's for sure his party already is the most popular in FATA where his prime mandate is abolish the FCR something which I really support him for..Omar Farooq Hoti is also expected to join his party and Omar is son of ANP's former leader Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti so he is maneuvering a bit lets see what happens

No journalist whether in Pakistan or foreigner has access to FATA due to ban by the ISI and Punjabi Army.

When it comes to electioneering, Imran Khan, the fundo in the day but playboy at ninght stands no where. His profile is presently being built by ISI through extensive media coverage because he is saying what ISI wants him to say i.e., raise public outrage against drones so the Punjabi establishment and ISI uses it as a pressure tactic to extract more benifits from US.Last edited by Toramana; 08-03-2011, 11:12 PM.
