Greetings,
I don't mean to have a condescending tone, so I apologize if this post offends our devoted Pakistani nationalists. However, why is Jinnah so revered and praised in Pakistan? He doesn't seem to have the best personality, nor was he our average Muslim. All he did was divide the Muslim population, and create a state where the British/West can now easily subdue the locals without having to worry about it's implications in the future[since they are now divided]. What I want to know is the following; In Pakistan, our Muslim country, why were the Army generals, and the founder of it's spy agency, along with it's governors non-Muslims? I thought Pakistan was for Muslims, what difference did it possibly make, or what kind of influence does it exert when it was ran by the same old people it had wanted to run away from? I guess that's the sweet-irony? Politics is a very dirty profession I guess. By the way, I am not an Afghan or Pakistani national, I just wish to learn more about our fellow Jinnah sahab.
Yaggi, perhaps you can tutor me on this subject?Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Jinnah is respected simply because he created a seperate state for muslims, it wasn't only Jinnah who did this, it was a whole movement started even well before Jinnah, and 99% of pakistanis wouldn't want to be with India even today, doesn't matter how many problems there are in pakistan, and i dont consider myself a pakistani nationalist, just because i am defending the existence of the country doesn't make me a nationalist. Even Shehbaz khan is not a nationalist, he is only countering the crap being spread against pakistan on this forum from people who have never even been inside pakistan. Pakistan as country will survive, i know you also want to see it break, but it wont happen, keep dreaming.Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostGreetings,

^ pakistan as a country will exist no matter what, but if you are talking about government/army then yes the whole system in pakistan needs to change, every person from every background, doesn't matter which ethnic groups deserves equal rights. This is where pakistan has failed and i agree with that, But there are people in pakistan working for a change, there is a whole new generation of people who are recognizing the mistakes of the past and trying to change the whole corrupt system. Every pakistani is hopefull change will come. I think you should worry about afghanistan, there are so many problems there, why dont you try to fix them??
also on a personal note i am from urduspeaking background, but my grandfathers migrated from Delhi to Lahore in 1945, our family was already present in Pakistan when it was made, so i dont technically consider myself muhajir, Muhajir as a term is used for people who migrated to pakistan after 1947, many people kept coming to pakistan in the 1950's 60'sLast edited by Karachi; 07-31-2011, 02:23 AM.
