As long as humans exist these things will exist at some level in all societies. Some people think that due to conservative nature of certain communities these things prevail but that doesn't explain why such things exist in very open and liberal societies (and probably more so than the conservative ones).

It doesnt matter Pashtun, Parsiban, Punjabi, Black, Yellow or White these things exist because we are told we have nafs. People will make all sorts of excuses to say that they are not real, they are crazy, it is lack of freedom, it is too much freedom, it is conspiracy and other things but in the end it is all about self-control.
