Abu Muusa (r.a) narrated that the Prophet s.a.w said "Verily, before the Hour there will be Al-Haraj. The companions asked, what is Al-Haraj? He s.a.w replied, killing. Indeed, it will not be fighting and killing between you and the polythiests; to the contrary, you will be fighting one another, to the degree that a man will kill his neighbour, his brother, his uncle and his cousin.
The companions asked, will we not have our minds (intact) during those times? The Prophet answered, verily the minds of the people of those times will be removed. It (that time) will leave behind the Habaa of people (Habaa literally means d...ust specks; in this context it means the **** of mankind). Most of them will think that they are upon something (ie that they are following the truth) but they will in fact be upon nothing." (Collected by Ahmad and Ibn Majah)
