^^can you back up any of these claims? Material written about him contradict the "upright muslim". He may have been honest, but his politics were (and I guess history is slowly proven them) to be counter-productive to Muslims. It has been horrible for Pashtuns.
1.I didn't say "upright Muslim". I have said he was upright which even his enemies have never disputed. There are disputes about his Muslim birth, but he died a convinced Muslim. Jaswant Singh is a good source about Jinnah.

    2. Regarding his politics, again there are various views. But that he believed that the Muslims were a people apart from the Hindus hasn't proven wrong. Bangladesh is very much a Muslim nation where 94% people are Muslims. If we had not subscribed to the Two Nation theory, India would have annexed us. This theory was pioneered by us Bengalee Muslims. The present Pakistan in fact had voted against Pakistan.

      • a separate homeland for muslims based on secularism? the guy sounded senile and his supporters idiots.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

if nothing else, bangladesh has proven to paki minorities that they can be better off without pakistan.

When someone hails from such a backward region, where critical thinking is replaced by useless memorization that generally consists of nonsense, to an extent that they paint the Banana republic as a leader of the Muslim world, hypocrisy is the last thing you expect them to view, or dare I say understand. Pakistan from it's birth has served as international headache, and even today when you visit it's cities, there is no sign of a government, let alone law & order. From my experience, those that vehemently oppose criticism of Pakistan are those who hail from a military background -- you & I already know their mantra. Putting the word "hero" or "leader" along with Jinnah in the same sentence is an insult to humanity, and all those that have worked to achieve peace. This post comes from someone who supposedly put's the "A" in Pakistan. Tsk,tsk. Pakistan complained a few days ago that it's sovereignty is being "violated", all I did when reading was 'lol'. Funny how they mentioned it when Al-Qaeda number 2 died, when Pukhtuns were being killed en masse, it was "hunting terrorists with our Amrikan allies!".

The same algorithm for the most part applies to Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

These aren't views I am basing on but his very actions. Did he not establish a british parliamentary system? Did he not propose a secular state (despite some window dressing for Islam)? He himself said hindu would cease to be hindu and muslim would cease to be muslim, etc...what a contradictory quote. He basically created a communal state then decided to negate it in the future. Doesn't this strike you as odd? Yes, it was pioneered by a Bengali, but remember two things: what was initially proposed was discarded very early in the creation of Pakistan (a recipe for its many future disasters) and the bengalis were among the first to throw away the idea of Pakistan.
