Taliban blames ‘US agents’ for deadly attack on Pak military convoy in N.Waziristan

    From ANI

Miramshah, July 9(ANI): The Taliban leadership in North Waziristan has reacted sharply to a recent bomb attack on a Pakistani military convoy in the area, saying that US agents, not Taliban militants, had attacked the security personnel to achieve their own objectives.

Three security personnel were killed and 14 others injured on Tuesday when the convoy was attacked with an improvised explosive device. Security forces, believing that militants holed up in a local hospital were behind the strike, demolished the facility on Wednesday.

On Friday, the Taliban Shura gathered at an undisclosed location, and released a one-page statement after the meeting, which was presided over by Hafiz Gul Bahadur.

"Mujahideen Shura of the North Waziristan gives last warning to those elements who carried out the improvised explosive device attack and opened fire from main bazaar a few days ago. If these people don't stop their activities, then action will be taken against them," the Dawn quoted the statement, as saying.

The Shura asked the Taliban and their supporters to kill the elements involved in criminal activities, and said that the Taliban would claim responsibility for their action.

Gul Bahadur said that Mujahideen could never commit such acts, adding the US agents were involved in these activities to serve its interests.

The Taliban have never used bazaars and other public places for attacks and have no plan to do so in future, he added.

MK Bhadrakumar noted that these "border" raids are backed by US.

It is obvious that the attempt was to force Pakistan to start a full-scale operation against Pashtuns. This is what the US wants.

I think that NDS elements were involved.

Attacks like this will open a wide-scale military assault on Pashtun inhabitated areas by the Pakistani military and at the end of the road thats the only way Pashtuns will wake up and realize their real enemy.

The problem with uneducated people is that they can be easily indoctrinated and hardly pin point their real enemy.....and suck up to fake friends who misuse them.

What is the Haqqani Network other than an asset of the ISI?

These attacks by NDS agents have not and will not achieve their objectives. Pakistan is not going to do an operation against the tribal areas, especially those who are against the US occupation of Afghanistan, simply because it does not and will not ever be in their interests (not out of love for Pashtuns).

It is a common Kabuli narrative to blame Pakistan for the opposition to the US and Kabul government. This narrative is false and ridiculous. It disregards the natural resistance Afghans have always and continue to have against foreigners. According to Islam, a foreign war can never be tolerate. The same goes for Pashtunwali.

It is irrelevant to an Afgan that their interests of ending US occupation happen to coincide with those of Iran, Pakistan, China, and other regional countries. It is completely irrelevant.

It is also very ridiculous to say that these rural Pashtuns are uneducated. It is offensive. They are the Pashtuns, and they will never ever tolerate a US occupation.

Islam and Pashtunwali have been the backbone of Afghanistan.

Nothing else has any significance and matters.

Ashraf don't be naive, the entire region isn't dictated by our backbone, we are just one piece in the game. These things are not relevant....they are more relevant that what a rural Pashtun thinks or does.

Afghanistan is dictated by the rural Pashtuns. It is naive to conclude that the Afghan resistance to foreign occupation, and imposed war is irrelevant. It is the biggest CARD, and without it, history would be different. Pashtuns are not Polish It is due to their intolerance to the US occupation, that the war continues to fail.

It is ridiculous to attribute all the defeats to the hands of outside elements who happen at the moment to have the same interest as those Afghans who are opposed to the US occupation of Afghanistan. This narrative which is being spread disregard the Afghan natural resistance to foreigners, and this is where this idea falls flat on its face.

              Ashraf,

come on. You sound like the Pashtun version of a hillbilly republican (no offense intended!).

Resistance has to have an aim, it must come from within the people and it must be legitimit.

The aim to remove the American presence and let Afghanistan fall back into a playground for regional powers, specially Iran and Pakistan is not just unacceptable, it is stupid.

The resistance attacks from across the border and flees to those sanctuaries after attacking. What kind of a resistance is that with no root among the ordinary people?

What is the legitimization of this resistance? Does it have the approval of the majority of Afghans? I hardly think that the people who make up 75% of all the victims of the Taliban attack back this movement willingly.

Taking pride in stupidity is really immature.

Resistance has to have a strategic aim.
There is no strategy for the foreign led insurgencies because they implement tactical manouvers of foreign strategic agendas.

              It´s time to wake up.

This is the common anti-Muslim/ Anti-Afghan/ anti-Pashtun view held by a many in the Kabul government. No Afghan fights for Pakistani interest or Iranian interests. No Afghan wants to place the Pakistani or Iranian flag over Kandahar. They do not tolerate foreign occupation, and never will. This is especially true for the Pashtuns.

the US and Kabul government want to tell Afghans to not resist the US occupation.

                  Ashraf,

come on. You sound like the Pashtun version of a hillbilly republican (no offense intended!).
and you sound like a desperate person desperately trying to convince the vast majority of others to accept US occupation- something that will never happen.

Resistance has to have an aim, it must come from within the people and it must be legitimit.
Go to Helmand, Paktia, Paktika, Kunar, and elsewhere. No Afghan will ever tolerate a foreign occupation. The people of Afghanistan have made it very clear they want the US-NATO to leave their nation.

The aim to remove the American presence and let Afghanistan fall back into a playground for regional powers, specially Iran and Pakistan is not just unacceptable, it is stupid.
This is what you think, and this is your opinion.

This is so ridiculous. Go to Helmand, Paktia, Paktika, Kunar, Wardak, etc. LOL. Go to Southern and Eastern Afghanistan. Heck, now you can even go to some parts of the North. Why does the Kabul government need US backing?

What is the legitimization of this resistance? Does it have the approval of the majority of Afghans? I hardly think that the people who make up 75% of all the victims of the Taliban attack back this movement willingly.

AND, the prevalent view in Kabul is that the Americans are responsible for all the deaths, besides the night raids and airstrikes. they say that these Afghans would no fight if the Americans were not there.

but it is a fact, not even my opinion. The US is opposed to Islamic rule in Afghanistan, and has desperately tried to prop up andobedient secular government that oppresses its people. These are facts. Do you deny this?
