Pakistan's military has responded to reports that Washington has cut about a third of its military aid to Islamabad.

Pakistani officials said on July 11 that the country's security forces are able to fight without U.S. military assistance. They also said they have not been informed officially of any US decision that reportedly suspends $800 million of aid disbursements.

White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley confirmed that aid to Pakistan had been cut after a report by the "The New York Times" said the $2 billion annual security aid package that Pakistan receives from Washington would be cut back by about one-third.

"The New York Times" quoted senior U.S. officials as saying the move was Washington's response to the expulsion of U.S. military trainers from Pakistan, as well as an attempt to pressure Pakistan to step up its fight against Islamic militants.

nope, 2 billion is just a small package, Americans are hiding the fact other small periodic payments have also been made. 2 billion is not the only amount getting paid to Pakistan please due a search, last year alone it was 4 billion, and every year its 5-6 billion. Yes this 800 million is just part of that 2 billion which was promising since 9/11. I don't know why are they saying "its because of Pakistani deployment of 100,000 soldiers" right now soldiers by far 3 times that number, this whole news crap doesn't make sense to me. Besides this is just a reaction to cool down the American tax payers. I feel sorry for hard working Americans for paying this large amount of money to this dirty 2 face nation, smiles in front and knife in the back. This bs news just causing more confusion, if you guys remember the deployment of pakistani soldiers took place in late 2003-2004, where as this package was approved in Nov 2001.

second of all Why should Pakistan worry about that 800 million when everything promised was already given to Pakistan such as new American supplied jets as well as large number of military equipment what else does Pakistan need over 40 billion has already been granted to Pakistan already do you guys that last 1 billion would make any difference. This whole thing is American-paklistani game playing with people of their own countries that unless pakistan takes firm actions the aid would not be provided, daaaah in the past two months over 150,000 pashtuns have been displaced inside Pakistan, and 400 soldiers died, and large number of Pashtun militancy either Taliban or "mujahideen" ie the Pashtun nationalists have lost their lives. Their action in killing over 60 afghans in Kunar is basically one of their arguments that they want to root out "terrorists". Therefore everything in media since late May 2011 has been supporting the fact that Pakistan is fighting harder than ever, and yet just few days ago the Americans freeze the 800 million Aid lol. Are the American senators too slow or they pretend not to know anything and are bunch of idiots.

BTW where do you get the news of "Pakistan says they don't need US military Aid" lol its like saying street dogs are saying no to meat. Pakistan is trying to fool their own people that they are Honorable government that they don't care for 800 million, from where I see it. I think the Aid to Pakistan will increase in the few months, because Pakistan is always asking for more funds, so it will be interesting to how this game is being played and see how CIA fools Afghan people and their own hard working American tax payers, and how ISI is playing the game of fooling their people of so called "Muslim nation", lol watch their TV and how their minor small commandos yelling "We nation of Pakistan are strong, just see how we will defeat the Americans away, they are bombing Pakistan everyday without our acknowledge, I ask the government to reject their Aid and lets together do Jehad against Americans"

The second type of aid is the basic begging bowl type where they line their pockets. The only AID WHICH HAS BEEN SUSPENDED IS THE Military Aid. In fact Zardari was unaware of this aid until a few months ago. The Pak Military are a separate entity similar to the C.I.A and a power house from within. Interesting that has not been mentioned the military aid to be honest is not deserved. Pakistani audit is laughable and as corrupt as can be. If ALL the aid was stopped i would actually give a **** :P
