    US-led forces kill Afghan civilians

PressTV - US-led forces kill Afghan civilians

US-led foreign forces have killed several civilians in two separate raids in Afghanistan amid rising public discontent over such attacks.

An Afghan official said five Afghans were killed by NATO troops during an overnight raid in the southern province of Helmand.

However, local people put the number of those killed at 25.

Elsewhere, foreign troops killed two Afghan farmers in the southern province of Laqman.

Two other civilians, including a child, were also wounded in the attack.

Civilian causalities have always been a source of friction between the Afghan government and US-led foreign forces.

Afghan officials including President Hamid Karzai have repeatedly condemned NATO attacks on civilians.

Afghan people have also held massive protest rallies against foreign forces over such attacks.

Hundreds of civilians have been killed in US-led airstrikes and ground operations in various parts of Afghanistan over the past few months, with Afghans becoming more outraged over the seemingly endless number of deadly assaults.

The war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record highs, has become the longest war in US history.
