The idea is clearly to convey to Americans that THEY must step in to take over
Pakistan, because based on a sensationalist story like this, Pakistan
has spiraled so far out of control as to have threats like THIS.

I bet it's a fake from the start, calculated to enrage Americans that a girl would
be used.

Of course the audience never asks "WHY are we being told this ?" and "is it
even TRUE?" -

No, because the American audience needs some outside force to complain about.
It takes the pressure off of feeling upset at oneself for those lost mortgages and lost jobs, or reduced hours...

It's classic to contrive a scenario to bring about righteous indignation
at SOMEONE ELSE. Rather than remind Americans about their OWN MISTAKES
which they are not good at taking responsibility for to begin with.

what you guys are forgetting is the criminals who have really done this while your attention is diverted to Pukhtane.
