A US-led airstrike has killed five people and wounded several others in central Afghanistan as public discontent continues to grow over such attacks.
The air attack took place in Ghazi Bagh area of Ghazni province on Tuesday night, a Press TV correspondent reported.
The air and ground attacks by the US-led foreign forces have killed thousands of people since the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan.
The casualties have usually caused tensions in relations between the Afghan government and the leading NATO states including the US.
Kabul has been condemning attacks on Afghan people, with President Hamid Karzai saying the foreign forces should stop looking for Taliban militants among civilians.
The surge in violence comes despite the presence of nearly 150,000 foreign troops in the country that claim to be engaged in a so-called war on terror. The US-led war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record highs, has become the longest war in the US history.
