Is this tribal belt not included in Pakistan? If Yes than Invade is the wrong word. If NO, you need to see the world map !! Get a Life GOE
the qibail area was never a part of Pakistan. If you read the Durand agreement, it was intended to be a buffer zone. You cant on one hand claim it to be part of Pakistan, and then apply draconian and archaic FCR on its people under the guise that, "it is not part of Pakistan"
Geographically, culturally, historically it makes NO SENSE whatsoever for Qibail areas to be included in any idea of a Pakistan. These people are free, and dont have allegiance to Islamabad or Kabul. They should remain free, not subject to Pakistani army incursions;
The Afghan army has just as much right as the Pakistani one to go there
if qibail is part of Pakistan, officially include it, merge it with Pakhtunkhwa and treat it like a part of the country, not some backwater tribal area that will be the equivalent of Native reservations in a generation.
Everything about Pakistani policy the last 60 yrs towards Qibail indicates that the Pakistani establishment has never seen it to be a part of your Watan as Lahore and Multan is.
I remember once I was on the bus, and I overheard a Pakistani man and African woman talking. I assumed they were coworkers going to work. The woman asked him why there was so much war in his country and the man seemed to go out of his way to explain that "that area is in our country but its not really a part of the country".
This is the rationale which explains Pakistani hostility and ambivalence towards the region.\
I banged on him right there on the bus, and told him straight up, that area is under no justification Pakistani, and has no business being under the green flag

Are we talking about this:
45 militants, 27 security men killed in Dir
Friday June 03, 2011 (1136 PST)
DIR: Twenty-seven security forces personnel were confirmed dead while 45 militants were reportedly killed in Shaltalo area of a border village in Upper Dir district on Thursday after an attack by hundreds of militants from Afghanistan.
The fighting has continued for almost two days and terrified the local population. It has caused tension in the entire district where people successfully resisted militants’ attempts to find a foothold last year.
The militants, who eyewitnesses said numbered around 300, dismantled a post and heavily attacked a school where security personnel were billeted. On the other hand, official sources say around 200 militants launched the attack from their alleged sanctuaries in Kunar province of Afghanistan, using rocket propelled grenades (RPG) to pound the seemingly poorly-equipped police and Levies officials.
The targeted officials are from the Dir Police and Dir Levies, forces not traditionally trained to defend the borders, sources say. ìI had directed to provide heavy weapons to security forces. The police had provided ammunition to them but the militants blew up the room filled with ammunition with rocket launchers,î said IGP Fiaz Toru after attending the funeral of the slain officials. He said all available ammunition was destroyed, which left the personnel unarmed leading to heavy casualties.
The deadliest-ever clashes in the border region in Upper Dir have left 15 police officials and 12 Levies personnel dead. Bodies of the slain security personnel were removed to a small government hospital in Barawal near the border. Local administration officials, health sources and locals confirmed seeing the bodies of the personnel.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Ghulam Muhammad said they had received 25 bodies. However, police officials who were on duty in the area but requested anonymity said 27 bodies had been received. Video clips of the dead show most of the corpses were badly mutilated.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Malakand Region, Qazi Jameel, was quoted by the media as saying that 45 militants, apparently camouflaged in Afghan National Army and Nato forces uniform, were killed in the clashes. Sources also told our sources that telephone intercepts “confirmed” the killing of 45 militants. However, not a single body of the militants could be captured, leaving the claim unsupported. Some locals, though, said they had seen the militants shifting an unspecified number of bodies in pick-up trucks.
The attack and ensuing clashes underlined the precariousness of the security situation on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, believed to be porous and undefended. The attack rendered the border unsafe in Upper Dir.
Ghulam Muhammad, DPO for Upper Dir, said the area had been cleared of the militants, but he did not explain how. He also conceded that some pockets of the invading militants still existed. It could not be ascertained whether fresh contingents of security forces were sent to the border.
The DCO said the post was established some five months ago to keep an eye on militants trying to enter into Pakistan from across the border. The US, Afghanistan and Nato forces have been alleging that sanctuaries in Pakistan are responsible for attacks on them but the recent attacks apparently launched by the militants from Afghanistan suggest otherwise.
As the bodies draped in the Pakistan flag were sent to their villages, there was widespread mourning as tension and fear gripped the district. Funeral prayers of 21 personnel were offered at the Police Lines, Dir, and attended by senior police and district administration officials.
End.

KP doesnt need Pakistan, we dont need to be 2nd class citizens when we have the resorces to be independant states and actually mean something in our own country rather than just be some backup fighters, we lose more to pakistan than we gain.----------

Qebail Pashtuns are very simple minded, and humble people. Them defending Pakistan doesn't mean they love Pakistan. They once viewed Pakistan as an Islamic nation, and some thought 'India is a Hindu enemy attacking the land of Muslims, so heck why not defend Islam and drive out the Hindus' that was once the motto, and that's how they once viewed it. The times have now changed. After Pashtuns became refugees in their own country, they have certainly awoken and they certainly aren't naive. They very well know that the same people whom they once were willing to fight for(Pak Army), destroyed their families and livelihood and shot dead their children for no reason. Some of which has been captured on video. I interact with Pashtuns of Pakhtunkhwa regularly, and even the most pro-Islamabad despise the nation.Originally posted by Karachi View Post^ tribal people have always defended pakistan though, even as recently as 2009 i remember them saying they will defend pakistan if india attacks. its such a shame that our army is bombing them today, really i hate our army, what a slave it is!
Most Pashtuns, in all honesty, don't really care about the Pakistani or Afghan government. Let alone the Pak Army or ANA. Just because you see a few Pashtuns in the Pak army and Afghan army doesn't mean anything. In my opinion, the more Pashtuns get Urdufied/Desified and Persianized, the less they will care about their Pashtun values.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
