Come on Shahbaza, Like GYE said, why is he buried in Jalalabad. BAcha Khan never wanted Pakistan to be created, why would he say that. He did differ with Kabul how KP should be united with Afghanistan but he clearly wanted the Pashtuns back as one. Why would he want his people to be with a country that imprisoned him most of his life. It does not make sense. Go spread this non sense somewhere else.

Shahbaz is right........Bacha khan speeches to the first constituent assembly of Pakistan are on record where he had expressed his opinion regarding pukhtunistan in the same words as quoted by Shahbaz........These speeches have been published both in pashto and english by Bacha Khan research centre and can be found in the form of a booklet on "ANP" website.......the audio tapes are also there in bacha khan markaz's library.......
Bacha khan was a simple and straight forward person......He along with other politicians and ulemas of Darul Uloom Devband was against the creation of Pakistan....but as soon as it came into being, he took the oath of loyality to pakistan and started his constitutional struggle for the renaming of the province as pukhtunistan and for gaining provincial rights......in that speeches Liaqat ali khan asks him about Pukhtunistan issue and he clearly tell the house that by pukhtunistan he means the amalgamation of pukhtun majority and full provincial autonomy.....A minister named Feroz Khan Noon intrupts that then you will join Afghanistan........Bacha khan in reply says "No, i won't joing Afghanistan"......
But the sad thing is that despite of all this, the ruling elite of pakistan kept him in prison for years and labelled him a "Traitor".......and still many pakistanis think so....because the then rulers spread propagandas against him and his party using all possible means ......

Thank you Yousufzai. Even if he believed in breaking Pakistan, which I would not believe for a second, but if you as a Pashtun form Pakistan say so that he didn't I would believe you.

Daud Khan was manipulated, perhaps he should've heeded to the wise words of the British which they conveyed to the Afghan government when Pakistan was created was that not to be "used and manipulated by khans and the tribes of NWFP". And this exactly turned to be the case, Pashtun politicians in Pakistan would use the joining Afghanistan threat as merely money and power making scheme within Pakistan and threaten Panjabis.

What happened to "Lar aw Bar" slogans of ANP now that they are in power. Afghan Pashtuns are too naive, sadly.

I respect you and what you wish for yourself. But I would also not buy your BS which you want to serve as propaganda and loyalty-pledging to Panjab. It does raise questions why he was jailed despite that he swore his allegiance to Pakistan and why he wished to be burried in Jalalabad. Why would I make a wish to be burried in Peshwar?

What I gather is that may be he did want to have his own Pashtunistan but he knew the thin ice he had to walk on since he lacked the necessary support within Pashtuns of KP. That is why all the misries he went through, you and our likes hardly shed a tear or fought to free him from his pains when was chained by the prodominantly Panjabi establishment. He was a man of his era, his contemporary ANP is not worth a penny but a corrupt clique, from what I know.
