I am from Dir so let me give you my family's prospective.

The army is not our hero either, for two years they refused to do anything and let the Talib/Takhrebkaraan movement mature. This polution like that of Fazllulah and na-Muslim Khanan should have been killed the death of stray dogs and today we would not have been talking abou them... but the army let the movement mature, many people died in the hands of those "champions of Islam". I do not care if the ISI sponsored them or the Mossad(or whoever we are blaming for our failures today) who were the 100s and 1000s following them?

Many people kidnapped from homes, butchered, property thefts all in the name of Islam. All the local thugs and well known thugs joined the ranks of Muslimeen. Not once did Fazllulah in his comedy radio show once denounce thugs for joining or not giving up their old ways...

People of Dir realised the double game of the army. The people of Dir made a pact with the army not to come and they will deal with the thugs themselves. A couple of lashkars were formed and a few battles with the local Talib thugs were fought. (Mind you Swat is more peaceful therefore many did now own weapons, Dir on the other hand is well armed... no handful of thugs could have gotten away with anything). Yes we also realise in Dir and support the army because if they had not cleaned up Swat when they did(under american pressure mind you when they started to ask questions where their $s were being spent) and ANP realised they could not continue with the cherade as after Buner was Hoti House in Mardan, life would have been very different!!!!

Does it ever occur to you that perhaps you are responsible for the way these innocent Pashtuns are being treated?? Maybe if you showed some respect to them they would think of our people as human beings and not take out the angered caused by selfish people like you on them??

Can someone please please post the butchering done in the name of Islam by these idiots? The ones where people's heads are being cut off? The digging up of the dead Pir Samiullah? I have the CDs but can you guys please post them up? Remember the people commiting these crimes are local idiots... not from India or any other place....
