A non-UN sanctioned US drone strikes has killed at least 17 people and wounded several others in Pakistan's troubled northwestern tribal region.
The unmanned US predators fired a number of missiles in the tribal district of North Waziristan, a Press TV correspondent reported on Friday.
Local security officials say a house and a hotel were targeted.
The aerial attacks, initiated by former US President George W. Bush have escalated under President Barack Obama.
Islamabad has often voiced its anger at repeated non-UN sanctioned US drone strikes.
US officials say the attacks target militants. However, a majority of the victims of the attacks are civilians.
The issue of civilian casualties has strained relations between Islamabad and Washington.
The Islamabad government has condemned the strikes as violation of its sovereignty.
CIA director Leon Panetta recently said the US has no intention of stopping the attacks.
The Friday attack comes after Pakistani authorities strongly censured the US for conducting another unauthorized attack in Pakistan that led to the killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
