    Gulf Times ? Qatar?s top-selling English daily newspaper - Pakistan/Afghanistan

Three Afghans held for disrespecting Qur’an Three people have been arrested as officials probe claims that a paper mill in Afghanistan recycled copies of the Holy Qur’an into toilet paper, the attorney general’s office said yesterday. Around 1,000 angry demonstrators, some throwing stones, held a protest on Monday at the mill on the outskirts of Kabul, leaving the building partially destroyed. Copies of the Qur’an were found inside the factory, Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said, adding that no-one was injured in the protest. “The attorney general’s office and Kabul police have jointly tasked a delegation to investigate the alleged disrespect to our holy book in that factory,” a spokesman said.

Hundreds rally against paper mill in Kabul

by Khwaja Basir Ahmad Fitri on 18 April, 2011 - 18:04 KABUL (PAN): Hundreds of people rallied on Monday on the outskirts of Kabul against a private paper mill which they accused of recycling school books and copies of the Quran into toilet papers.
Residents of Deh Sabz district claimed they saving three tonnes of books and copies of the holy Quran from being recycled into toilet papers by the 'Lalah' company.
Amanullah, one of the demonstrators, said: "Turning textbooks and Quran copies into toilet papers is disrespect to Islam." He demanded the company's detained owner must be sentenced to death.
Qari Abdul Rahman, speaking on behalf of the protestors, accused Westerners of being involved in the matter. "If Muslims ignore such affront, Islam will be disrespected across the world.”
"No one in Afghanistan would have dared denigrate Islam if the American pastor, who burned a copy of the holy book in Florida, had have been punished," he said.
District police chief, Col. Zamaray Nasiri, said Ehsanullah, the Lalah Company director, was arrested on Sunday. The people who had provided the company with the waste paper are being chased.
Mohammad Amel, who has been working for the mill for a week, claimed: "I saw books and copies of the Quran in the backyard of the company. The books were meant for making toilet papers."
Amel said he and his co-worker, Sidiqullah, informed local people about the books. People stormed the company at 10am and the director escaped.
Speaking to Pajhwok at the Deh Sabz detention centre, the director held an individual named Siddiqullah responsible for collecting scrap paper. He said he had lodged a report with the 101st Asmayee police headquarters two days ago for the arrest of Siddiqullah.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I think you have your proof for who is telling the truth. True Muslims never lie, so when they say this number of people have perished, it is the truth. On the other hand, US gov/army only lies.

Kandahar and other places are in the hands of Afghans.
