Islam is the reason, even Tajiks in the north are welcoming Islamic rule against their corrupt war lords. Islam is the only unifying force for Afghanistan. People respect those who stand up to foreigners. So far, secularists have only collaborated with foreigners, so how do you expect anyone to listen to them?

Spanta (Tajik), Atmar(Pashtun), Saleh (Tajik). - they are all cowards and criminals who have tried to sow ethnic discord in the country to suit their own ambitions. This is treason and sedition. NDS is a well known organization taking part in this failed plan.

But Pan-Islamism is firstly not Prominent amongst Gulf Arabic states, it's actually primarily amongst Egyptians, Syrians, Palestinian and Iraqi Muslims; There are Gulf Arab Ikhwans but they're not the main proponents of the movement.

Most Gulf Arabs are Royalists and are in largely conflict with the IKhwan.

Secondly most of the Pan-Arabist Movements were centered in Levantine Areas, like Ba'ath Party.

The Arab culture is Islam, hence Wahabis force it upon other Muslim peoples.
        Arab culture is not Islam.

It was a culture before Islam even came. Islam stamped out the disgusting parts of this culture (like burying baby girls alive). Islam brought equality for some time between men and women until Arabs returned back to their paganistic culture. And today have New Years Eve parties in Dubai, and drink, and everything. that is what Arab culture is today.

Islam is a faith, not an ethnicity.

Sadaam Hussein, Bashar Al-Assad, Hariri, these are all pan-Arabists. Note that none of them talk about Islam.

Baath party was in fact pretty much against religion, and pro-Arab culture.

Look where that nationalism got them?

In my experience, Gulf Arabs typically are prejudiced towards the Levantine ones.

The Arab culture is based on Islam.

Drinking is mostly prevalent among Levantine people and North African Arabs, eg, Lebanese wine, Raki and is not a part of the Gulf culture.

            That's different than being Pan-Islamist

You can say Arab culture is "based on Islam' but Islam is not Arab culture and this is plainly evident from how Islam arose.

I dont know about North African Arabs and drinking, but lots of Gulf Arabs do drink too, just not the common folk. Most Common North Africans dont drink either. It's mainly something done by wealthy westernized puppets/uncle tom types.
