A point about TTP and pashtun causes. It's a popular notion around here that the taliban are isi/pakjabi stooges. How could they rise up against their 'masters'? Why would the secular nationalists join them? Besides, wouldn't the pashtun causes slogan be reflected in their name, namely something like Tehreek i Taliban Pashtunistan?

I've said in the past, the excuse that the isi is stopping the masses from rising up doesn't take into account the fact that the isi couldn't stop certain baloch from forming 'resistance' groups. The isi is a smokescreen so one doesn't have to see the reality for what it is.

Current nation-states don't like losing territory. The qualifier that pashtuns of Pakistan are just waiting for afghanistan to be stable and prosperous begs the question of why would Pakistan let afghanistan be stable and prosperous if its sole goal is to take away its land and people?
Fair enough. Regarding the last sentence... I did not think of that. However, what I seek to understand is more related to opinions versus outcomes. I mean that if you went to Nowshera and pulled the average man of the street, which opinion would dominate within 2 standard deviations. My impression there (versus Quetta which was a bit more linked to Afghan affairs via the fact that various tribes straddle both sides of the border) was that folks as far as even the Mohmand agency hated the corruption of Pakistan's government, but generally were patriotic and even at time dangerously jingoistic. I actually debated with a few folks for an hour about whether Ahmad Shah Durrani was the same person as Ahmad Shah Abdali and whether Nadir Afshar was not Zahir's father, and was not an Abdali pashtun. The historical literacy level was abysmal regarding pashtun heroes. Folks were more familiar with Iqbal then they were with the name Abdali. They knew of Khattak, but not his views. Taurangzai was completely forgotten. Faqir of Ipi left them with an odd look on their face.

Hating the GOP is common amongst all Pakistanis. It's probably hated even more in Sindh and Punjab. The conclusion people like to draw regarding hating the corruption/policies means hating Pakistan. That simply is not the case. Besides, the corruption amongst nationalist led governments is just as much if not more.

Ones you refer to as dangerously jingoistic are that for a reason. They like Pakistan. They see it as their country. Someone using pashtunness to deny a part of their identity naturally brings about overreaction. They want greater means of participating in bringing development etc to themselves and their country, NOT taking on the being of the state.

One does not need polls etc, there are other means to see to gain insights into peoples political aspiration. As you mentioned, there's the bnp/bla in Balochistan, obviously meaning that a sizeable portion of Baloch think along those lines. Similar to what was East Pakistan, similar to Kashmir, tamils in Sri Lanka, etc. Important to note that all these movements are indigenous led. Sure there was/is support from abroad, but that support would be worthless if the inclination towards a certain political goal did not exist.

I alluded to it in other posts, the ONLY way pashtun nationalism is going to work is if the secular nationalists incorporate and promote Islam, besides keeping in tune with reality and logic. Blabbering against Pakistan hasn't worked and it won't work. Given their assertions, I don't think i'd be far off if i said that the Paki establishment understands the Pashtuns better than pashtun nationalists do. Makes sense since there are a lot of Pashtuns in it. I also wouldn't be too far if i said that SK and Imran Khan are far more representative (and relevant) of Pak Pashtuns than ardent nationalists.

Many Afghanistanis hate what their government is, many more disagree with its ethno-centric power games. However i will never go as far as claiming that people residing in Afghanistan want partition all of the sudden.

Regarding pashtun heroes, i think they see a difference between "Afghanistani" history (regarding Zahir Shah and the Afghanistan autocrats) and 'their' history. People forget that there had been a long time between KPK being Afghanistan and KPK being involved in the intricacies of British India and the movement for Pakistan. Naturally, as Pakistanis, they would know a lot about Iqbal.

Good Question, but does not really need any attention inside PF forum, it has been understood, Cause for those who don't know in some level it shows their brotherhood, and love for each-other, doesn't it? Regardless to which side of Durand it hurts either one when one of their own suffers.

That's just emotionalism. It's because when one gets hurt it eventually leads to the other also getting screwed at some point down the line. Your view is also pashtun-centric. All in the region get hurt vis a vis their perceived interests when any get groups gets 'hurt'. The Tajiks, Punjos, Baloch, Kashmiris, Sindhis, Hazares, etc. Sure brotherhood plays a role.

Well i think Imran can't do anything better ....sa da Alladin dewa kho na' da warsara che har sa ba teek kee........His claims that he will wipe out terrorism, price hike, corruption etc is nothing more than to fool simple people who have already been dissappointed by their political parties....
Shahbaz! if you look at Imran's PTI.....you will see that most of yesterday's "LOTAS" are now there in PTI claiming that they will bring an "Inqilab" in the country (I can name many of these Arbabs/khans/nawabs)........but the fact is ,that most of them were excluded from their respective parties due to corruption...They even don't know how to deal with people but a hunger of power have compelled them to keep in touch with public. Last time when imran was here in Nishtar Hall his party workers begin to fight infront of him ......lol.......
Here is another example showing their real face:

A party whose memebers even dont have ethics to appear on the screen, how can lead 180 million people. I strongly suggest Imran Khan to sent his members for ethical education. Politics needs restrain, humbleness, and patience, it is the first lesson of politics and Imran Khan and his party first learn to behave in a sober manner and then think to come in politics......so how do you think these people will bring change in the country........ ? Graveyarda wrora,

Ignore this troublemaker Luffy (I don't know much about Shehbaz Khan), but I know for a fact Luffy is a troublemaker and a provocateur.

To give an example, my first thread on PF which was called something like *** Salamoona Nokia Afridi **** (self-explanatory what that was about), until I renamed it contained no politics or any reference to Pakistan.

Luffy using his "Dinosaur Khan" alias instead of doing the normal thing and saying hi or welcome, posted a comment "I did not like your thread", immediately to make me feel uncomfortable and to feel unwelcome.

These 4 Pakistanis have targeted me, Luffy, Roadrunner, Karachi (who recently sent a racist and taunting PM to me, despite me telling him I do not want to speak to him....I have since put him on my ignore list) and Pakistani Maseed have all targeted me and said things to the effect that I should leave Pashtun forum as I am not a Pashtun (as if Roadrunner is one).

If the admin ever ask me to, I will go in an instant, other than that these 4 anti-Bengali Pakistani racists can go and get lost.

Anyway Luffy is essentially in trouble....people basically know he just comes here to stir trouble and consistently remind him of that, so he will probably get bored of the fact that people just see him for the little stirrer and troublemaker that he is and cease trolling.

                  Bengal tiger

they even try to justify what has happend in this video with their treacherous ways.

Manzarah said something anti my city Kunar and i got angry and said somethings which contained abusive words but no where did i mention his mother or said something about her. This luffy jumped in joy and made comments about me saying that i abused his mother.Even though i find manzarah to be one thickhead fool still that doesnt mean i,ll abuse her mother.
my comment got deleted by the moderator and he went claping and jumping in joy saying that i deleted my comments which i didnt.

than he made a thread calling for me to be banned using that according to him "abusing".
