Pakistan wants to get hold of the US drone technology to effectively combat terrorism on its soil, but the efforts are likely to remain unheeded, sources have said.
"This is rather impossible plan as the US neither has such policy nor any mechanism to oblige Pakistan," the Nation quoted a noted defence analyst, as saying.
Another defence source confirmed that Pakistan has been successful in indigenous manufacturing of drones, but was interested in acquiring the US technology relating to weapons and reconnaissance systems installed on the pilot-less aircrafts.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua, however, was still hopeful that the US would consider Pakistan's demand arguing that Pakistan has its own policies and priorities.
The US' pilot-less drones have been carrying out strikes in Pakistan's restive tribal region near Afghanistan border, targeting Al-Qaeda and Taliban hideouts since 2004.
Several high-profile targets, including former Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud, have been killed in these attacks.

yes,agree,pashtuns of both sides got the same problem.
what karzai did for pashtuns?
He is still serving his punjsheri masters and turn his back on pashtuns.
He left pashtuns on ISI hands.

I think as long as pashtun leaders worship dollars things will not change.

Afghanistan is very important country in the region for trade route.

Mr Spanta recently said that we do,nt want indai and pakistan to fight eachother on afghan soil .Any help from others to rebuild afghanistan is more then welcome but so far it is all politics.

i understand your point, it does not matter where these attacks coming from, there is no doubts about the US bases on napak soil. the pakies want to legit these attacks, so uprising could be avoided.
