Look at the way the turban tails stick out:
it must be some gauzy type of material.
Aren't most turbans from silk or else maybe rayon?

    That is SOME turban !!
Though I don't agree with randolph on politics, he does
find some of the best illustrations.
I still remember the one with jirga members clapping...it
    was well placed,
at the end of a PF dispute which had been - temporarily -
    resolved through arbitration.

these kinds are made of cotton and the way we tie it up, sticks out the shamla (turban tail) very easily.

i have always wondered why southern pashtuns in afg/pak wear mostly lungis and eastern pashtuns wear mostly pakols. i know the pakol originated from northern pakistan and it might be a geography issue, but were there many pakol wearers pre soviet jihad?
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

from what i have seen, the original pakols are too flat. i prefer afghan pakols since i have a big head.

It's a good question as to whether the pakuls were much in use before
            the early jihad days.
I remember reading about them in older books as "the Nuristani cap" - so maybe
before the anti-Soviet time, they were largely confined to Nuristan?
            A guess.

Turbans are SO MUCH more dignified and nicer, no matter what though!

Cotton cloth really? That's surely healthy, and will hold up well over the years.
I had one that I kept for years but finally sent back over there for someone who could use it !
It was black and metallic grey striped.
Now I miss it a little...
