  • Pakhtuns in Pakistani Power Politics

Power Politics will never be fruitful for Pakhtuns in Pakistan for the following reasons:

    1) That Power Politics needs majority which Pakhtuns will never attain in Pakistan

    2) That Power Politics has reduced to a business which if adopted by Pakhtuns leaders or parties will be catastrophic to the Pakhtun national cause of national freedom.

    3) That power politics in the form of parliamentary politics is just a civilized form of grabbing the resources of other nations living in Pakistan by the civil, fuedal and military elite of Punjab.

    4) That the real problem of Pakistan can be solved by making constitutional amendments to give max authority to the nations over their historical lands and resources and their due share in power to run their affairs in the form of provincial autonomy.

    5) History has proved that it is the technique of acting as a pressure group and struggling for freedom that a nation can achieve its rights to live a better life and this cannot be achieved via power politics.

Pakistan was a product of British far sighted polity to prevent Afghans and Indian becoming the next powerful nature who can challenge their hegemonious designs.
Pakistan was carved out of Panjabi fear and the vested interests of Muslim elite class. That is why Muslim league was a party of Nawabs and had not much people from the middle class.

Pakistan is destined to get balkanised.Independent Balochistan and Pakhunistan will be carved out of it.The Pashtuns will ultimately abolish the Durand line ,like the Berlin wall and merge with their motherland Afghanistan.

^The Majority of the Pashtuns I think do not want to merge with Afghanistan anymore. I heard they are patriotic.

This is a misnomer.Due to the new wave if nationalist aspirations and consciousness about our rights,Pakhtuns want freedom, independence ,prosperity.By the way Pakhtuns on Pakistan side joining their brothers and sisters in Afghanistan,is my prediction about future.

Pir Rokhan, not saying I necessarily agree with Afghanwazir but that is true every Paki Pashtun I ran into says ' we are Afghan by ethnic',' that doesn't mean we want to be part of Afghanistan and be Afghanistani'

I'd appreciate a further elaboration and are you from Pakistan?

                Dear

The reason for those naive Pakhtuns who are entrapped by the Paki propaganda is that our innocent people havent seen the sun so that is why they take a candle for a sun.

The fruits of liberty and freedom and a good life with pride and honor is something which needs to be tasted in order to be known. So I do not blame them. That is for this the purpose that we are investing our time in pakhtun fora to see our nation and the next generation from the mirage of freedom shown by Pakistan to its Pakhtuns inhabitants.

Re: Pakhtuns in Pakistani Power Politics

Pashtoons in Pakistan would look more to Afghanistan if Afghanistan were stronger economically and politically.

Pakistan is held together by little more than US handouts and (the Panjabee-led) fear of India. The minute the US loses interest in Pakistan, it will begin to weaken.
