This was taken at Angoor Adda, which is a hot bed of Punjabi Taliban and Wazir Taliban.

What makes this video amazing, is that there are also Maulvi Nazirs Wazir Talibs also doing attan with Pakistan Army, I confirmed this as well.

How can a army according to graveyardofempires is fighting Pakistan but on the other hand is also doing attan with them.

While the Mahsuds are punished by bombings, killings and being forced to be IDP's, the Pakistan Armies Assets get freedom,money and protected(except from Drones).

Who needs enemies when you have "brothers" like these? In Pukhto, they call it tarborwale.

These are the signs of a primitive society struggling to implement a cohesive national unit, with so many complexes that it's futile to list. Much of it is evident even in it's educated class, so-called the "intelligencia", there is nothing "intelligent" about it.

2 points i would like to make. in times of hardship and stress, it is natural for people to want an escape and have some enjoyment, after all, even the army are human.
the other point is, maybe the locals didn't have much choice. if they are occupied by men with rifles you may just have to play the diplomacy game.

Hence the reason nobody has figured out a way to effectively rule this so called "primitive society."

Although there is competing tribal interests at play in pashtun society, I dont think it is to a point where it is that different than in other societies. I dont know too much about KP pashtuns to talk about in detail but in afghanistan when the Durranis ruled, it wasnt the ghilzais that overhtrew them. It was Daud(durani) that decided it wasnt feasible anymore to rule a nation as a monarchy.
Also when the Soviet installed Najib(ghilzai) was ruling Kabul, his main adversary wasn't a durrani but a ghilzai named Hekmatyar. When Mullah Omar(ghilzai) started approaching Kabul, Hekmatyar(ghilzai) didn't join his fellow tribesman but fought against him. One must also note that the number two Taliban Leader Baradar is a Durrani who is an adversary of Karzai who is also a Durrani.

This notion that pashtuns only serve and cater their own tribesmen is a myth, at least in afghanistan. If you go to the average afghan village, you will see a diverse group, some supporters of Taliban, some supporters of Hezbi Islami Hekmatyar, some supporters of the government, some are agents of the ISI, some are agents of CIA, etc. Some are loyal to an ideology, and some are loyal to money.

I think it was Churchil that said "if we are not defending our nation, then we are battling amongst ourselves." So when you see pashtuns bicker amongst each other, this is natural human behavior that is not unique to us but it exists in all of humanity. In the west, the bickering is mostly peaceful because of strong national government institutions keeping the peace and figuring out a way for their citizens to bicker in the courts with pens instead of with guns.
