Waryun, I think your analysis are too speculative. There is nothing nor Tajiks or for that matter any one and neither Americans do to Karzai. It bears heavy consequences. There is no reason to make any one uncomfortable. Karzai knows the end. Once the war stops Pashtuns will retain their legitimate domination. As for the elections you have to consider number of factors. If things are screwed then Taliban will have to brought in through some kind of a deal. So imagine a Pashtun president in country in which power is heavily under president, a parliament dominated by Pashtuns, and Taliban army that is in itself a force multiplier which will rout ANA in a week max in half of Afghanistan - then sure some balance was to be made. Hence the recent parliament was engineered. But if peace is not restored sooner than later then Pashtuns will take this to heart as a joint NA and American design on them and in that case say good bye to durable stability. Many are already fuming.

Civil war is no one's interest, certainly not in the minorities'. They are too comfortable and rich now.

Logic has to prevail. True reconciliation has to take place with clear intention. All parties should be allowed face-saving. The longer this war drugs the worse it is for all parties.
