  • Balochi people claiming to be descendants of Kurds.

So basically I met a balochi guy at my gym and he said that some balochi claim to be descendants of Kurds. So I went home and did some research and it seems that some balochi sources do Indeed claim that.

The Baloch began to arrive from their original homeland in the northwest Zagros Mountains, in Syria, Anatolia and Iran, claiming to be an offshoot of the Medes and the Kurds who would mainly populate the western end of the Iranian plateau.

The large district and tribe of Belijan/Beluchan still exist in northwest Zagros, stetching from just east of Sivas, south toward Aleppo. The current inhabitants and the tribe identify themselves as Kurds—the cultural and linguistic cousins of the modern Baloch.

I'm hoping for some feedback preferably from a Balochi but any feedback would be appreciated. It's a new thing to me and quite surprising.

I'm mostly interested in the balochi people in Pakistan as that's where these claims are coming from. Having looked at some of the Balochi tribes in Pakistan I can see that some almost identical to Kurdish tribes in terms of their names, although looking at their physical appearance they don't look much like Kurds.

Turkmen? we have some of those in Kurdistan, they're ****.

I'm talking about Turkmen where I'm from. I don't know Turkmen in Afghanistan. Anyways this isn't about Turkmen, I'm hoping to get some feedback on the above.

Well obviously they've done a lot of mixing, but I'm not interested in that. Anyone with constructive feedback?

Baloch are probably the closest thing to Kurds (not counting the zazaks who are basically Kurds). They are descended from the Medians as well (with mixture from other communities) and their language is quite similar.

I've come to a conclusion that the Baloch are to Kurds what the Medes are to Kurds. We Kurds have done a lot of mixing with the Assyrians and the Baloch with who ever they conquered/live/invaded with/by

Kurds should stop terrorising innocent Turkish citizens. They are a cruel people. Turkish people are kind and polite. Well mannered folk.

Stay on topic. I don't discuss pointless issues such as the above.

When anthropologists associate one group with another, the links are established by using linguist similarities, not physical features or DNA results. Almost all societies, living in Central Asia, or in the over all greater Asian continent, have intermixed. There is no barrier to separate or isolate one group from another.

                              Read what I said.

It's called giving information have you ever heard of that? Just becuase I said that I found that they look different does not mean anything, it was just a statement with no follow up, had I meant that I'd base my opinion off their history based on that I would have mentioned it.

                              So you fail.
