her nose was cut off by her husband a little while back, it had nothing to do with the taliban.

not to say the taliban dont cut off body parts, as they just recently cut the ears off some civilians in kandahar but if u are going to present something like this, dont lie about it because ur credibility is on the line.

this video has embedded prejudice and stereotype; first of all it is not consensus opinion of selected actors [taliban] to cut noses, and not every singular taliban is barbaric, cuting off a nose is not exclusive to taliban. there are many other barbaric people in the world humanity spectrum that are accused of carrying such acts.

this video spouts and excuses the equally barbaric reactionary thoughts of the watchers, quoting the presenter: 'it is a visceral human reaction (after seeing this girl's mutilated nose) to kill all taliban in afghanistan and pakistan' etc, followed by, 'but we have to be smart...' this is a blatant excuse to show the viewers that what they feel is commonly felt ie killing all taliban.

this presenter cannot case one good example to remedy this situation except for the oft quoted panacea of afghan dillema, quote, 'get the tribal elders together' followed by quote, 'etcetera, etcetera, etcetra). Which tribal elders do they suggest convening to oversee the taliban; Mullah Omar? Behtullah's circle? the popal karzai? or does he suggest getting the village spingirray together?

my remark is that such videos propagate ignorance of perpetrators, spread prejudice, reinforcing prejudice.

if this video is presented by setting a context that intends to highlight a case, such as barbaric acts due to ignorance, or, say a comarative analysis of brutality by a sub-culture of mob mentality gangs within broader political movements, then perhaps this video in abstraction may be justified for purpose of elucidating a case of brutality, even then one case is a weak base for broad conclusions.

i am of the opinion that SUCH brutality is not EXCLUSIVE to taliban but a reaction of ignorant individuals, or bands of brutal people that use a cause such as the taliban to leash out their beastly feelings of violence, the violence in settings such as the school bullies, or the muggers, or ghetto criminals, or the decadent suburban wannabe gangsters.

the guy on the video is totally pretentious, i could not watch it for long. i googled and found that the suffering of this young woman was atrocious, if what she claims is true. i suggest, if you haven't already, read her story.
