The answer IS the afghan's internal conflicts and disunity invited russians.
If pakistan and america were not involved they would have crushed afghanistan and pakistan and the rest of the muslim world. pakistan never interfered in Iran's internal issues because, Iran is a strong country, they have a system, a govt and an army sotrong army. but why afghanistan???? Because afghanistan has got so many weaknesses till now and thats why these weaknesses let russians enter afghanistan.
