The pakistan army was supported by the Jummat-i-Islami Bengladesh and resisted by the nationalist (and secular to some extend) Awami League party of Sheikh Mujib.

So please dont blame this one on the secular nationalists. The motto of the Paki army is, "Jehad fee sabeelilah". Not Jehad fee secular nationalism.
