  • Radical Islam and Imperialism.

I’m reading an article by Dr Ansari an afghan scholar about history of imperialism in our region….the writer deduce that the radical Islamist are in fact the products of imperialism, created by the imperialists to cut across the socialist and communist movements of the region, and as a way of creating a bogeyman that the Israeli and American ruling class could use to justify propping up reactionary dictatorships like Mubarak, Ben Ali, Saudi Arabia, the horrific treatment of the Palestinians, etc. Whats you guys think?

and socialist and communist movements are also a product of imperialism.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

To a certain degree I feel he maybe right, but at the same time the term radical Islaam is very ambiguous in numerous ways that the things I maybe thinking that confirm.

Does he for example mean militancy against Imperial Presence or rejection of communist/socialist values intruding on the cultural fabric of the middle east and asia?

Or does he mean that later on in the 80's-90's that certain extremist groups became propped up and supported by U.S. and British agendas for example Al-Qaeda and Ahmad Shah Massoud etc etc.

It's important to understand the distinction and also what precisely what Dr. Ansari means to be able to measure the veracity of his claim; and also the Logical Consistency.

          Please elaborate.

By the way Parsiwaan, he doesn't have a doctorate, so it's inappropriate in referring to him as Dr. Ansary.

                Isn't he an Ismaeli?

If he is, who cares what a kaafir says?

I'm completely unaware of what his private religious beliefs are, I wanted to ask but given the talks were in an auditorium, it may have been inappropriate.

The guy sounds more American than I do.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's an Ismai'li though, many Sunnis are endorsed by the same foundation.

here's one of his books though.

given his looks and his talks he is definately an Ismaili.

Many Ismailis endorse the name "Ansari".

come on that's not conclusive, they might be clues but not conclusive ones. And I don't see how his talks are Ismaili. He could very well be an Ismaili but I refrain from assumption until I have something more tangible.
