Sangar, I am no fun of him, but he is better than your Jehadi bros. We are kind of stuck with him at the moment, and would rather have him for some time than Talibum and co. Hence Afghans will support him and his days are not numbered at all, trust me on that.

I am sure you were not even born at that time. You enjou your lessons being taught to you from fake Pakistani media, dont waste my time.

I couldnt agree more with your Pir Rokhan. What a wonderful comment with alot of truth. Its amazing that nearly every attack on ISI in punjab has a proven link to south waziristan but never to afghanistan or even North Waziristan, and yes in North Waziristan the taliban there are very loyal to Pakistan same with the Afghan Haqqanis who are extremely loyal to Pakistan and ISI. I can remmeber In 2008 Afghan taliban even sent a Jirga to South Waziristan to stop baitullah from attacking Pakistani forces and Army and even threatened to disown him for his actions. Afghan taliban are not Anti Pakistan or Anti Pakistan Army. Even recently they sent a Jirga compromising of Afghan taliban commanders to release Col Imam under the supervision of PLM N and Pakistan Army. ISI is ofcourse playing a big game in Afghanistan and I know for a fact that Pakistan Army can finish off the taliban in Waziristan by destroying its HQ in Miram Shah and Mir Ali but they dont do this.

              Snagara,

I am all for transparent and sincere dialougue with Taliban and others. I want to skip what the reasons could be they're fighting for, but one thing to me is clear that morally and in principle that the good and well being of greater number should matter; instablisty and further fighting is not in Afghanistan interest. There are intelligent ways of doing things. From all I know and I have read on warfare, supressing the current insurgency doesn't seem prospective at all. There has to be and ultimately a political one. However, this doesn't mean that Taliban are winning, on the other hand they are not and by large are also loosing support. Complete majority supports the government and will continue to do so, no wants return of the bums.

I am in favor of a political solution. BUt we must get rid of those pimps and drug-pushers who are leading the current regime.

You claim taliban are loosing support. I don't believe a word of that.

For as long as we have corrupt pimps and drug-pushers "representing" us in the so-called government, nobody will benefit.

The Taliban are a reactionary force against instability and crisis. They consist of the rural population who are sick and tired of being pushed around by drug lords, corrupt adminstrators and most of all invaders and crusaders.

We can't have a government entirely run by semi-educated madrassa students. But that does not mean we have to let our fate be determined by bunch of sickos like Kharzai, Fahim, Khalili etc.

i am not brainwashed by pakistan, Pir Rokhan... (makes me laugh out loud to even read I, brainwashed, pakistan in the same sentence)....

but the only reason why i don't like Karzai (who i liked before) is that all the torture that prisoners, elleged terrorists, and insurgents face in bagram happen under his nose and he does nothing about it.

to me he is a baighairat ( ijust came to this conclusion a few days ago)... to let other countries torture his own afghans.

now i am sure nothing u will say will change my opinion of him, unless he does something solid about the ijustice afghans face in their own land... and i am sure u r aware of a recent rumors about US having a secret torture cell in bagram.... what a MAN karzai is... !

                    Canada subcontracting torture

A parliamentary committee has heard stunning allegations from a former translator who claims the Canadian military tried to cover up the fatal shooting of an Afghan man in October 2007.
Malgarai Ahmadshah alleged to MPs in Ottawa that the Canadian military "panicked" and rounded up a half a dozen Afghans between the age of 10 and 90 after the shooting of a man sleeping on the roof of a compound in southern Afghanistan.
Ahmadshah, a Canadian citizen born in Afghanistan, admitted inside the committee room that he did not witness the alleged shooting, but said he was present for the interrogation of detained men afterward.
He said the soldier who allegedly shot the man in the back of the head mistakenly thought he had a pistol.
Ahmadshah also described how one of the detainees put his head on the ground and "begged to have a bullet put in his head" rather than be handed over to the Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS). Ahmadshah, who served as adviser to the former Joint Task Force Commander in Afghanistan from June 2007 to June 2008, acknowledged under a heated round of questioning from Conservative MP Laurie Hawn that he had "no direct evidence" to support his allegations.
During the opposition's round of questioning, Liberal MP Bob Rae asked the witness directly whether he saw the alleged shooting. Rae noted accidental shootings can sometimes happen in battle and reminded the witness that it was important to "differentiate between what he knows and what he thinks."
Ahmadshah testified he was not at the compound during the alleged incident, although he was allowed to see the intelligence report and took part in the interrogation of the detained men. He alleged a member of the military personally described it to him as "murder."
When contacted by CBC News following Ahmadshah's testimony, Michel Gauthier, the now-retired lieutenant-general who was commander of all Canadian Forces overseas at the relevant times of Ahmadshah's allegations, said that due to his upcoming appearance before the Military Police Complaints Commission, he will not be offering any comment.
                    Canada 'subcontracting torture': witness

He also insisted he passed his allegations that the Canadian military was "subcontracting torture" to the NDS up the chain of command. He also said he "cannot believe" Defence Minister Peter MacKay doesn't know about his allegations.
"I want him to sit across from me look me in the eyes and say he doesn't know," the former translator said.
When Bachand asked whether Ahmadshah believed that Hillier was telling the truth when the general said that Taliban fighters — and not innocent farmers — were detained, the witness replied, "No."
When Hawn asked if Ahmadshad was calling Hillier a liar, Ahmadshad became agitated and accused the Tory MP of trying to put words in his mouth.
Hawn then asked why Ahmadshah would keep working with the Canadian military after these alleged experiences. The witness replied that he did so because he wanted to help his people.
The witness was accompanied by Amir Attiran, a University of Ottawa law professor who has led legal efforts to get the government to release unredacted documents pertaining to the Afghanistan mission.
At one point, Attiran would not let Ahmadshah answer Hawn's question on whether has an ongoing legal action against the government, telling Hawn he could look it up in the court file.

All it does is make you look even more silly since you are praising the filthy dog, the servant of invaders and murders of our kinsmen.
Hatred for someone due to "aqeedah" is one thing, living in a fool's paradise and having utopian wishful thinking is another thing while trying to understand the helm of affairs and helping your country to gain stability against the malicious designs of her enemy [who incidentally are muslims too] is absolutely another thing.

In my post I said that President Karzai is facing challanges which means that things are not ideal but considering so many handicaps which Afghanistan has due to the imperialist policy of her neigbours , presence of religeos zealouts, three decades of war, westren interests, geostrategic postion and lot of other factors , one should be realistic enough to accept that President Karzai is doing better. He was elected twice against the wishes of the washington who tried to make his election second time controversial against which he took a bold stand. Afghanistan has developed a lot under his leadership in the last few years.

You have the right to dream for a better day [and ironically under the ISI backed Taliban, which will be a catastrophe] but one has to be realistic in issues of state.

I was thinking that while you enjoy life in a "Kuffar" country and would hate to live in any muslim country even saudi arabia, how sad it is that you are proposing and propagatign such retrogressive ideas which will only bring death, destruction and demise to the Afghan nation who are loyal to their soil and have opted to live and die for it.

Taliban might have rural local population, they might be sincere too, they might want to solve the issues confronting Afghanistan too but two things make them unacceptible to the national interests of Afghanistan.

                        1) They are being remotely controlled by ISI which has always used and backed Pashtuns in Afghanista to make them fight against other forces, whether they are internal or external,so that Pashtuns always depend upon ISI and pakistani army for help and support hence playing the role of puppet in the hands of Punajabi army.

                        2) Hamid Karzai was elected by the people. He dint come to power by force. If taliban are popular they should particpate in elctions and take thr leadership by fair means instead of using gun.

                            The basic problem you expat Afghans have is that you dont know what practical politics and ground realities are ;
second you are idealists ,moralists and utopian in your thinking whe it comes to others who are practically facing the bitter realities of life back in Afghanistan whether they are in power or an layman.

You should know this basic fact about Afghanistan Politics that after three decades of war ,where you guys ran away from your land to take refuge i other parts of the world for a better future, those sons of soil to whom Afghanistan'soil was sacred kept there and faced the bitter realities.

Now if the people of Afghanisatn have decided to get rid of war and have peace in their land ,good relations with thr world, become a part of the int'l community and strive to stabilise its political system with the help of int'l community so all of a sudden you guys have become ghairatmand and have started criticising those who are practically doing their part to shape up things for their country.

Please try to understand politics of a state before expressing your subjective esoteric sensations based on the misconceptions of the stone age values.

If you do not know this basic fact of south asian politics that Taliban [in Afghanistan] were the brainchild of ISI,their trainers, their facilitators and their supporters then I think you need to go to school again. I cant believe you said this.

Anyway to over come this basic cognitive disability, please google ISI and Taliban. You will find hudreds of references including confessions from Col. Imam - the spiritual and military mentor of Mulla Omer and his gang.
