The worst thing about those riots was that the government machinery sat back and even colluded to let the riots happen. I mean its understandable when mobs get crazy but its police's job to step in. Any delay (planned or unplanned) in such instances is criminal. The police and army came in two days late and though they did shoot about 300 odd people, much of the damage was already done.

Undoubtedly shameful, but we will still be hearing about these riots 10 yrs from now whilst the pious here keep silent about what is happening in their own countries.

I condemn Pakistan army for the barbarity againt bangalis and the vast bombings in Pashtun areas just the way I condemn Indian army for the poor treatment of kashmir.

But the way Gujrat riots happened it was a massacre all of these local hindus were involved in killings and rapings. Still the justice is not done,Moudi is roaming free!!!

We should be focus on justice , the guilty should be punished no matter who he is , where he is.

Esapxai, not to defend Drona, but I dont think he was trying to justify the riots. No sane person can. I think what he was trying to say is that the Gujarat riots are seen in much worse light than other crimes in neighboring countries because it happened in India, a Muslim minority nation. Many Muslim members keep bringing up the topic just to heap insults on Hindus as a community and India as a nation, while conveniently forgetting other (and sometimes far greater) crimes in Muslim countries. Let this thread going for long and inadvertently you will have some PF members ranting on about idol-worshippers and their crimes.

Brother , everything is discussed here, you can report anything from a muslim country nobody will ban you.

So no need for divergence when it comes to minorities in your own country.

Bro, I am not blaming anybody in this forum or admins here. That was just a general observation based on my interactions with people in other forum as well.

And I didnt mean to make my post a diversionary tactic. I would be the first to call out the repeated minority persecutions in India and the subsequent lack of justice as a blot on my country's secular credentials.
