Question from Secularists and Nationalists who are Muslims

Question:

Please give me a clear understanding of what "ibadaat" is in Islam.

What is your understanding of "ibadaat" and where is your understanding of "ibadaat" based on?

Evidence from Qur'an and Sahih Hadith will be appreciated

come on tigers! Where is the spirit of brave secular nationalists? Did you all loose it during no pants day?

I understand the motive behind this question because wahabis, ahle hadith and salafis tell the wolrd that worship or ibada in Islam is for every thing what Muslim does and the 26 hours of life is Islam and thus Islam is a complete code of life and a complete system. They thus try to urge that politics, culture.economy, science , philosoiphy all is Islam and we must reject all other notions of these spehres of human life if not based on their so called Islam.

This is the worst cruelty ever has been perpetrated to Islam which is just a simple religion but these extremsist want to make Islam a complete system and thus justify the stand of Al qaeda, Taliban, Akhwanul Muslimeen, and others to struggle for an Islamic state and Islamic economy and culture and society. This way they impose Arab culture and society in the name of religion on non Arabs. And thus muslim women has to copy the dress code of Arab women in the name of Hijab and Taliban and others justify their struggle in the name of Islam and hoodwink poor masses in the name of Islam and prepare suicide bombers and so on.

Ibada or worship has been defined in Islam as reciting the kalma tayyeba, salat, ramadan, zakat and hajj. These are the obligatory acts of ibadat or worship. Beyond that there may be some non obligatory acts like nawafil, sadaqa, umra, fasting without ramadan etc. This is the whole concept of ibadat. All other spehers of human life like politics, economy, culture etc has nothing to do with religion. If it had then we sould have seen a pure Islamic state in the past 1400 years but all what happened was monorchies or other forms of governments and not any government purely based on Islam.

If we separate Islam from politics and other spehres of human life then it will be a great service to Islam other wise groups like Taliban, Alqaeda, salafis, wahabis will destroy whatever Islam is left out. The need o the hour is to restrict worship in islam to these 5 pillars or some non obligatory pioous acts and not beyond that.
