Even most pakistanis do,nt know the meaning of the national anthem.

seriously people...how does this concern us? can we focus on faults more often than others? this has absolutely nothing to do with us. why must we always gossip about others??

It's actually very 'high' urdu. Most Pakis barely understand high urdu. Though the vocab is highly recognizeable in the anthem. Written by a urdu/farsi poet.

All of the old poets of subcontinent have also done poetry in farsi. Our national poet Iqbal has claimed that his best poetry is in farsi. One of the greatest urdu poet mirza ghalib has also claimed that his farsi poetry is better than urdu.
I do not know how farsi get disappeared from pakistan. My grandfather was teacher of farsi. My father had selected farsi subject in B.A and is fluent in both farsi and dari. While i have also plans for learning farsi for CSS exam.

Luffy, it was outlawed by the british to get rid of the 'foreign' attachment for muslims in their new colony. They have successfully erased any linkages between greater persia and the muslims of south asia. Most 'educated' muslim south asians don't even know that farsi was the official language for them, and if they were to be worth a damn they had to know farsi. Fat chance that farsi gets revived, people are busy with their subcultures instead of focusing on the culture that gave/brought them respectability in the first place.
