Unusual footage of the villagers speaking so harshly and clearly about their hatred for the NATO operations. The one man saying "We don't WANT the US to build us roads or bridges, just GO HOME" -
sums up the entire problem right there

          Good find.

The man threatening to go against the Karzai govt was really dramatic.

The village people do not want help from anyone besides themselves. I remember when i was in Laghman, how everyone told me they want one of the NATO bases that is located there, to be removed.

^Thanks for relating this very telling info !
That makes entire sense to me, from what I know.

In fact, I would THINK the whole Pashtun region would feel very much the same way.
Maybe it does, and the word does not get out.

How many of us here, even, had seen that video, after all?

I LIKE their sense of independence.
It's tremendously inspiring that they would not care about amenities but about having control over their own destinies and lives.

I still can't get over that one guy's threat. He was SO FURIOUS.
                        They ALL were.

Exactly.Their sense of independence is what inspires me so much.

In Laghman, they people provide their own electricity, plumbing, those kind of things. They dont want anyone from outside of their country for any sort of aid. Even if their life depended on it.
