I believe what we are missing is zeal and ideology to gather us under one single banner. We don't have a unifying ideology that can unify us as a people. We don't have a leader that is generally accepted by all.
Yet, all of these problems are not unique to us only. All Muslims share the same problems. We are divided on so many issues it is impossible to summarize them in a sensible manner.
What we do have in common is our religion. Islam is the religion of nearly 2 billion people on this planet. But sadly, Muslims are divided in to sects and groups with conflicting beliefs and interpretations of Islam.
I suggest we should go back to the core beliefs and practices of Islam as they were during the times of the prophet Muhammad sal allahu alayhi wasallam. We need people to accept Islam the way it was revealed to us. And not follow our own desires trying to adapt religion to non-Islamic beliefs and ideologies.
Once our religion is spread to wide audience in its pure shape. We can then focus on politically unifying various people under the banner of tawheed. It is idealism. And I am aware of that.
This does not imply we should abandon all our current problems and situation and focus solely on the above suggestion. No.
I believe that this should be the goal we all should pursue in general.
But individually and in a smaller scale, we should emphasize on education of our younger generation. People must make sure all their children are educated. We need scientists, lawyers, medical doctors, political scientists, engineers, sociologists, psychologists and people who have mastered different crafts for the benefit of development and progress.
We need to address our problems and make people aware of what plagues our people.
We need people to translate academic literature into Pashto. We need books, educative institutions, publications, radio stations, satallite television and internet pages in Pashto.
The more mass media available in Pashto, the easier to emancipate the people from darkness. Challenges to peoples ill customs such as abuse and deprivation of rights of women should be addressed. Drug abuse and alcoholims should be condemned. Worship of shrines and self-proclaimed saints and shamans should be condemned.
Views and statements of charlatans posing as political leaders and public representatives should be challenged.
We need people to take action.
What we see now is Youtube filled with soft-porn in Pashto of jumping and hopping chubby *****s in Lahore to monotone and repetitive Pashto rhythms. But only a few channels on youtube have any useful content in Pashto. So are all shops in Afghanistan and Pakistan filled with these trash vcd's and cassettes. And yet, Pashto literature is very rare. Most of it is of such low quality, that you could mark whole pages with spelling errors.
We need people to be aware of these matters. And we need them to take actions. People spend hours talking about how others are evil and such and so. And yet, they don't take any action themselves. All they do is argue with other people.
For 1 year now I've been trying to contact people who are interested in translating good academic literature in sciences in to Pashto. Everyone admires my ideas. But so far everyone has disappointed me. All they do is say a few nice things and after a while you don't hear a single word from them.
This type of mentality is so widespread that you rarely meet anyone who is actually willing to put a little effort to do something. Yet talking loud and quoting Khushak Khan Khattaks poetry is all we do.
We should put more effort in constructive things instead of bashing each other and accusing each other.
