  • Terrorists must be crushed in Pakistan: Iran

TEHRAN: A senior Iranian commander says the best way to terminate terror activities in the southeast of Iran is to pursue and crack down on terrorists in Pakistan, a report said.

The Deputy Commander of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Gholamali Rashid made a reference to the recent deadly attacks in the Iranian city of Chabahar in Sistan-Baluchestan province and said the ground forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have the capacities to counter terrorists around the eastern borders, Fars news agency reported.

“The anti-revolutionary rings, which have found safe havens and support in neighboring countries such as Pakistan, need to be hunted down and crushed on Pakistani soil. And this is the only way to confront them,” he further explained.

At least 38 mourners, including women and children, were killed and around 90 were wounded in the terrorist attack on December 15. Anti-Iran terrorist group Jundallah has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Iranian mourners were commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Hazrat Imam Hussein (AS) when the attack occurred.

I think Iran rounded some of the perpetrators of that violence right before Ashura.

Iran says the US has been proved to be behind these Baluch Jundollah attacks.
Rigi, the executed leader, for whom the recent attack was claimed by this Jundollah to be revenge, allegedly admitted to receiving help from the CIA to his Iranian captors.

Also Ahmadinejad made the good point to the US that when Iran needed to grab terrorists, it did so bloodlessly and efficiently.

The comparison was obvious. The US has taken 9+ years and not really captured anybody.

Yet huge numbers of Afghans and Pashtuns have been killed as "collateral damage".

Who could believe US claims to be chasing "terrorists" in Pashtunkhwa and Afghanistan ?
    Except Toramana?

        Toramana,
You lack gallantry. [Are you really a Pashtun? - kidding here]
You should change the "n" for a "v" when addressing me.
I might be a tad nicer if you say "loVely lady"...

You need to be returned to the Age of Chivalry for some refresher courses

Plus you did not say anything about my comment.

Though it's true but you wouldn't know it, I am a little stuck in - among other assorted ones - Sassanian Persian days.
This could be why I uncompromisingly take Iran's side against terrorists threatening their people.

Hahaha, I am a bit un-romantic type ... How can American failure justify AL-Qaueda's moral position, thinking as a Pashtun?

Pakistan really needs to make a real effort. One gets the impression they just issue soothing statements to satisfy Iran, but don't DO enough, like SAS said.

I wonder how precisely Jundollah is connected with the BLA, do you know, Yusufzai [I don't have the write way to write it on my computer!]

But they are somehow linked to BLA , which is fighting against pakistan army in Balochistan province.

I dont think its in the best interest of Pakistan to promote violence and instability in
              Iran.
There is no evidence of the BLA involvement with Jandullah...Most probably, Pakistan is trying to use Islamist fundamentalism against Baluch nationalism as it is doing in Pukhtunkhwa...Also this Chabahar-Gawardar competition may be a factor...
