Civilian Casualties Caused By IEDs in the month of November

In a month long murder spree the Taliban killed innocent civilians including women and children. Despite their claim to be the protectors of Afghan civilians the Taliban indiscriminately targeted populated areas and killed dozens of civilians and wounded more than 50 people during the month of November. The insurgency continues to exhibit striking hypocrisy. Their message simply does not match the reality that every day, insurgents are deliberately killing, injuring and intimidating Afghan civilians.

Recent incidents of insurgent violence against Afghan civilians include:
On November 29th, two Afghan children were killed and one was wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Panjwayi district, Kandahar province. An Afghan National Army and International Security Assistance Force patrol responded to the scene of the blast to investigate the incident. The wounded child was treated on site by ISAF medical personnel. It is very unfortunate that the kids in this country are innocent witnesses to and victims of insurgent acts of terror. It is a shame that the Taliban continuously place Afghanistan’s children on the wrong end of these indiscriminate attacks.
In another very unfortunate incident that occurred last week in Laghman province insurgents used two bicycles borne improvised explosive devices near the Mehtarlam Hospital. The innocent looking bicycles exploded and as a result the insurgents murdered four Afghan citizens and wounded 32 others. During the attack, two Afghan National Police officers were also injured. Reports from the Mehtarlam provincial hospital say that among dead were two women and a child. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid took responsibility for the attack in response to the NATO Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, where officials issued a statement of commitment to Afghanistan and a condemnation of the Taliban
On November 27th, a roadside IED killed 3 civilian Afghan among the deaths are two children
The insurgents menace the population in many different ways -- from indiscriminate violence, oppressive practices, the imposition of an extremist ideology and in preventing the growth and development of basic services. Below are some links to insurgent atrocities in the month of November by independent media.

On behalf of CENTCOM, our thoughts and concerns are with the victims’ families. We’ll work with our Afghan partners to find those responsible and bring them to justice. The people of Afghanistan deserve --better than the Taliban—the opportunity to live in a country that’s free of the destruction caused by IEDs.

Yes. This attack should have been on the Rawalpindi Generals Head Quarter(GHQ) instead of Afghanistan where the real perpetrators of 9/11, i.e., the creators of Taliban and Al Qaeda reside.

Do you not remember Sep 11, when al-Qaeda terrorist hijacked four planes and used three of them to kill nearly 3000 Americans? Since then the US and Afghanistan have developed a committed relationship to defeat terrorism. The US has stood alongside the indigenous Afghan people during the toughest times in their history. When Afghanistan was invaded by Soviet Union, America was a key supporter of its freedom fighters. We did not send our troops to Afghanistan to oppress the nation or challenge its sovereignty.
Human rights monitors have noted consistently that it is the Taliban who are responsible for the vast majority of Afghan civilians being killed in the current conflict, through indiscriminate bombings that kill more civilians than combatants, and targeted killings designed to terrorize the population into submission.
IRIN Asia | AFGHANISTAN: Over 2,400 civilian deaths in 2009 - UNAMA | Afghanistan | Conflict | Human Rights

Nine years ago Afghanistan was nation hijacked by Taliban and al-Qaeda extremists. Al-Qaeda was using Afghanistan as its base of operations for planning and executing mass murder and terror. They were and are using Afghan civilian inhabitants as human shields. After Sep 11 the world had no choice but to unite against these extremists. If we had refused to attack al-Qaeda how many more civilians throughout the world would die due to their hatred and evil? Hundreds of civilians are dying every day because Bin Laden’s evil doing suicide bombers carry out inhumane attacks in Pakistan which claim more than fifty lives and wounded dozens.

Each of these deaths are terrible and tragic. But the question is do Osama and other extremists care about these civilian deaths and losses? Obviously not. For the day following the previously mentioned attack another suicide bomber killed 17 civilians in a bus terminal.

These acts themselves are the indication that al-Qaeda has no sympathy and is inhumane. As Pakistan struggling to overcome damage caused by the recent monsoon flooding, al-Qaeda and its allies, instead of helping, are continuously attacking and oppressing the nation.
And to reaffirm your point we have never said that Osama was Afghan, indeed Osama has no nationality after he was disowned by his family and expelled from his birth country.

Read some history of the proxy Afghan war. Taliban were 90,s decade creation of the ISI when the US and Soviets had aready left Afghanistan. You confuse them with the so-called Mujahideen of the 80s.

It is obvious that Americans had no kinship with these terrorists. These were particularly arab countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait etc. who had nexus with Punjab and its army, brought their own terrorists to Pashtun afghan land, otherwise you would see European-US fighters in that Punjab sponsored afghan war.
