Therefore it is prohibited in Islam to ask a high sum for dowry because this will imply that you are actually selling the woman.

The family of the bride are not allowed to come up with a sum of money they can demand based on their own desires.

The dowry must be a sum that is compliant to the shari'i set norms.

Currently the sum of dowry in Afghanistan is approximately around 3 tot 4 thousand dollars.

You can ask a local imam and they can calculate what the dowry sum is.

wrong,,,, No set limit on dowries... a woman can ask for what she likes... the 2nd caliphs tried 2 place a cap on dowries... one of his many "innovations" but was debated and lost 2 a woman on the subject

Dowry is not haq meher. Dowry is jehez which is given in the form of cash these days to the parents of the girl. This is wrong. Haq meher is something that the man has to gift to his wife during their life time spent together. Something of her personal choice which can be a rose or an amount of money.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

agreed but its ususally decided on before marriage and is there primarily to act as a source if the wife is dumped and left "high and dry" by her husband
